22.09 again today and like last year he won on this date.
Really strong performance today. If only he would be more consistent. On a good day he can ride with the very best and is a monster on the flat, while he completely disappears on other days. He is still young and i hope that he can improve a bit in this regard.
Youngest Champ since Freire’s first time?And just a reminder: he's 23!
A quarterYoungest Champ since Freire’s first time?
If he goes on to have half the career Freire has, that’ll be a massive success.
I’m sure that’ll change. He seems to have a better kick than Benoot, for a start. So, second in Flanders and now World Champion.
But he still hasn't won a single time on the WorldTour!![]()

Can't wait for that 'curse' talk to start if he doesn't immediately win big next seasonSo, second in Flanders and now World Champion.

"Winning the world title would change a lot for every guy who has been a world champion, and so it will change a lot for me also," Pedersen said. "I'm finished with playing the underdog. That will be impossible from now on. That's a new situation for me to be in. I'll have to race in a new way from now on."
There's been quite a few of those recently.Wow,congrats to Mads. In one week he managed to go from my sure-fire first pick in next years CQ game to "nah-probably-not". But what a great race today for a Danish cycling entusiast.
How can you be extremely underrated when you haven't won a WT race? This guy is extremely underrated. Always flying under the radar for the favorites.
He might have a quite spring next year until another "surprise" victory in De Ronde or Roubaix.
