With a bit of luck Pedersen could win the stage tomorrow.
I think Visma will use the riders who won't get over Porte to keep it close until then so that the break won't survive Peille. Easier for Jorgenson to handle the situation on his own without riders to bridge up to.

Visma keeping the break in check would be one of the requirements for Pedersen to have a chance imo. A strange battle: Jorgenson vs Pedersen.

Surely, Milan should be No. 1 for Trek in that race.

(They can still ride for Pedersen, but not having Milan wear the captain-number in that name would be a missed opportunity.)

Right, cause rider names should be the decisive factor in such decisions.

What happened to the old thread name? Is he not Danish anymore, can we rename him to PedersOn and declare him swedish?

What a great performance from him this week. Hope he is able to win a big race this spring.

No!
I just figured that whole joke had run its course, because everyone should know by now that he's Danish.

How many riders literally share a name with a Monument?

(Well, quite a few, actually. What with all the Milans running around in the peloton...)

You didn't see Giovanni Lombardi being the centerpiece in Il Lombardia selections back in the day, did you?

Can anyone figuratively share a name with a Monument?

I hope Nicolò Parisini is selected for PR this year.

"João is a good friend of mine. I saw he was struggling at the bottom of the climb so I did my best to keep him in a good position. I hope I gave him some motivation by still being in the group. It's not fun for climbers to still see a sprinter sitting in their group. Maybe it made him a little angry."

I had no idea about that friendship and am wondering a little if he's just taking the piss with us :tearsofjoy:

My man is never winning a monument. No matter how many one-week green jerseys he climbs his way to.

He's like a worse version of Van Aert where he gets talked up before every monument then does nothing to get close to challenging for it.

He should forever count his lucky stars that Van der Poel forgot to eat that one fateful day.
