It's not just you and Netserk I refer to, I also see a lot of disproportional hate against Pedersen on Twitter which is definitely not the case for Ganna.

It's like people actually hate Pogacar and Van der Poel and then instead they take it out on Pedersen because they think he should wheelsuck all the time (and yes, I know all your wishes for the season are for all the good riders to disappear).

And Netserk, I somewhat understand the bad persona thing, even if I think you're exaggerating. I also cringe a bit when he is interviewed because he can be a little too impatient and short-tempered if the journalist does not ask the most intelligent questions. And then his practical jokes are definitely not my cup of tea, either. But I don't think he's a bad person and at least he does have some personality which may be a bit missing from the peloton these days.
i think its right to focus more on pedersen than on ganna

pedersen holds far more sway in the races i care most about

The fact that Lidl chose not to take part in the Étoile de Bessèges because of safety issues is just so ironic. Safety is such a hard phenomenon to maneuver around. A seemingly safe race is likely to have crashes because everyone feels safe ... It's a catch 22.

Besides feeling sorry for Pedersen, I'm also annoyed. If you follow badminton, tennis and cycling, it's tough times, with world class Danish athletes out with injury for months and maybe even years.

machismo, bravado

his manners do not fit his racing niche
Where do you see off-putting machismo and/or bravado on Mads? At least in race interviews he seems perfectly friendly and non-machismo to me... does he twitter some machismo stuff? (I don't do twitter or X, or whatever other socials, so am out of that loop.)
