Thanks to journalist Matt Smith for writing the article. He was one of the very few who posted anything about Weisel, doping and conflicts of interest before this all blew up. Sorry - I don't have the link, but he posted some good stuff on SFWeekly.

Here's another article about the benevolent, grandfatherly Thomas Weisel being duped by the charlatans. He had no knowledge of any of it. He was as shocked as Captain Renault when he found out that there was gambling in Casablanca.

He's old so he must have forgotton the time the National team trained in Park City and stayed at his house to "prepare" for the Barcelona Games. Not only did he know that Lance took PED's, they were administered by Eddie B's staff...in his house...he wrote the checks. If you're looking for the Dark Prince he's the smiling banker wannabe.

Nah, idk if anybody else mentioned it - but the USPS decline is directly related to two things - the primary one being the rise of Fedex etc. The 2nd was their shortsighted manner of raising 1st class stamp rates. Totally unrelated to the market - and that means they lost tons of money when they didn't have to.

No and no.

Bush #43 signed a bill into law requiring the postal service prepay its retirement obligations some huge number of years in advance RIGHT NOW.

The motivation for that law is it's own rabbit hole of crackpot theories. The USPS is not without problems and the Internet has replaced it to some extent. But, the "losses" story was created by GWB. The private carriers are much, much more expensive and not particularly better in any way.
