It’s a shame that the domestic calender is so poor. How early do they move to Europe?

Ever since the golden generation of late 90's/early 2000's where we saw the likes of Julich/Armstrong/Hincapie/Hamilton/Horner/Levi/Vandevelde
Landis.

Jorgenson moved to Europe to join AG2R's developmental team two years ago. He was trying to get over sooner. There's an interview with him where he talks about how far behind US riders are when they get to Europe. He had spent most of a year before he got that AG2R development team contract racing in Europe and how much more improvement he was able make in his racing in Europe. He said something about two or three races racing in the US = one year racing in Europe as far as development goes.

I believe he went out of his way to learn French too in order to integrate into the team.

Obviously some of that is the level is higher/deeper, but also because in the USA you might race a few tough races, and then have two weeks off, then a tough race and a month off, and then a crit or two... In Euro, its a hard races every weekend with some midweek thrown in for extra punishment.

Please, can someone inform me on Matthew Riccitello?
He is very similar to young Gaudu, albeit with a few less watts. Very small, very light and therefore very quick up a mountain. He is vulnerable in other areas, so Israel have a project on their hands to make him a more complete rider. He was part of the American Dream Team (Simmons, Sheffield, Lamperti and Garrison) who just demolished everything in the junior ranks. His father was a very high level triathlete too, for what it's worth.

Thank you. I found a good interview with him: https://cyclingmole.com/2022/11/17/riders-to-watch-in-2023-matthew-riccitello/

Already moved to Girona when he was 18 and now living in Nice. I'll keep an eye on him.
