The way his/their Tour was going, I suspect even if Sagan had started this morning, the others would have still been told "if a break goes, go ahead and be in it." As long as someone was there to help Wilco in the event of a mechanical, there really wasn't much else to worry about today.

Agree, it frees up a lot when you don't have to defer to the team star. Management has to get creative and find ways to win. Nice ride today. I like Politt for some reason, I guess he always seems really strong in the classics and I feel like he could win much more than he does.

Yes, despite loosing that sprint to Gilbert he has a good sprint after a hard race, I remember him beating Trentin in a sprint in E3 and he did rather well in the reduced sprint in the RVV when he got 5th overall earlier in 2019.
He's a bit like Asgreen, after a hard race he can be competitive in a sprint against nearly everyone.
