The funny thing is that he is actually taking lancewillwin8 seriously!:D

Haha, Mate I take very little on here seriously and certainly not Lancewillwin8.

I do take Bro seriously however as I am convinced that the level of his posts are a true measure of his intellect and myopia:D

While I am flattered to be an object of infatuation by you, I have to be up front and tell you that I don't swing that way. Your dreams of getting Armstrong, me, and youself into bed with a box of Twinkies and a bottle of Tobasco will have to remain unfulfilled. You might want to hook up with Speedway or 9000ft. I am sure that one of them would be much better suited for you deviant fantasies.

Tough call. Right now, it's a 3 horse race between 9000ft, SpartacusRox, and Gree.

Eyjafjallajokull has recently switched from suck to blow as well, so maybe we'll really have a fight on our hands.

Bonus points for getting the movie reference. :)

Stop trying to sweet talk me Bro...it won't work. Plus I don't eat twinkies they make you fat.:)

I guess to hate Armstrong one must have felt let down by him? Kind of like Greg LeMond has been the way Lance once dominated the tours. I am not a fan of Lances' arrogance. I have never expected the grace and humility of Contador or Sastre. Nor have I expected the contriteness of Basso, Valverde and Vino from Lance. If he shut up and was humble would I like him more? Most likely not. Lance is entertaining to me thats all. Plus I see what Lance has accomplished. I admire that.

How you concluded that I "hate" Armstrong from my post(s) is beyond me. I guess you figure anyone that isn't praising him must be a "hater". There is no area in between for some of the Armstrong followers. You're either with him or against him.

funnily enough this is pretty common around here as well, if I change your quote ever so slightly

Very true... but there also seems to be no middle ground for Lance haters either.

I state that Lance doped, but I believe pretty much everyone was/is doping. I also state Lance has no chance of beating Contador, but has a shot at a podium spot. I state that while Lance is a jerk, the LAF is a decent charity.

The Lance haters say I'm a fanboy supporting him blindly. The Lance lovers seem to think I'm disparaging him and tearing down his accomplishments.

Oh well.

Wow! Rocket science on the forum.
Could have gone without saying and allowed Angrilu to sit in the middle ground.
Instead, you end up proving his point by stating the patently obvious.
Smart move.

Not a lot of middle ground is given in these parts, padner! I see your point, I have seen people who can't stand him get excoriated for saying ANYTHING nice about him. He isn't Satan. But some people don't want to accept that.

He'll be out of racing soon enough.

Yea, I am actually looking forward to that stage immensely...but of course, my favorite race is P-R. I think Lance will take some time there. Not enough, but I am betting that Contador will end up in the wrong split and maybe not the first wrong split, but one even further back. Honestly, he doesn't seem to like the front of the race until there are very few climbers left on a mountain. You'd better be willing to hammer like a madman before entering the cobbles, and you can rely on your team to some extent, but you'd better be a bull yourself. I just don't see Contador having that instinct, but time will tell. Lance on the other hand, I don't see him having the same problem. Obviously, P-R isn't something he has any experience with, but he is not afraid to get to the front when he needs to.

I don't however think it will gain him enough time that he will win. He will just make one of the mountain stages more interesting because Contador will have to drop him, and drop him good.

Hey, a real live objective post mentioning LA. From Thought no less! (Credit where credit is due) I'll agree with most of this but I think you're being too charitable. As I've said before, I'll be somewhat surprised if LA will be a big factor or animator. He had a nice result in Switzerland, but as many have pointed out, that ain't the tour. You never know though and time will tell. How LA and Radioshack performs will be one of the interesting stories of the tour.

Someone restates my point, but you immediately try to hammer me for being obvious?

Don't know if you get this, but this isn't a competition for me, trying to stroke my ego by trying to convince myself I give the mega smackdown to posters I don't agree with. What is it for you?

The Hog speaks some more:

“The fact that I moved from Astana to Radioshack has to do with my motivation and my passion … I was with probably the best rider in the world with Alberto, but my passion and motivation to be back with Lance was a lot bigger,” Bruyneel said. “We don’t have to win. Out of 10 times participating in the Tour de France, in 11 years, we won nine times. Honestly, there is nothing else I can do to do better. If I win it 10 times or 11 times, that’s not going to change a lot. “

Translated: "I no longer have the best grand tour rider in the sport so I better prep the media for my failure by seemingly lowering my expectations."
He's playing the same tune as Armstrong's constant reminder of his age versus the youth of his opponents.

I sat down in the bookstore and read the cover article on Armstrong in the latest Men's Health magazine. Armstrong is quoted as saying one the primary reasons he returned to competition is because he felt the sport needed its presence in the peloton in order for it, professional cycling, to be saved. He also mentions he had broad support once he returned from fellow pro's saying they needed him to set things straight and be their representative/spokesman for speaking out against dangerous conditions/courses and unreasonable testing procedures.

Hey, as I have said many times, even a stopped clock is right twice per day. I don't have a problem honestly assessing The Uniballer as a cyclist. I just don't like him.

Johan's constant referral to his passion to be with Lance is skeevy. Somebody should Photoshop Lance's face over Eva's on The Hog's nasty wedding invitation photo. After all, Lance has a high appreciation for Photoshop.

It is good for Lance to come back to cycling. It brings a lot of air time to cycling. It is OK to hate Lance and Johann to. Save the kittens from kitten flogging. Who pray tell would mens health and outside mags have on their covers representing US cycling? One of the Lance haters on this forum, leipheimer or Joe Papp. Never going to happen.

How about moving forward with the changing times and having Davis Phinney on the cover?

Or does it always have to be LANCE LANCE LANCE?

It is not about Lance. It is about an icon in cycling. I loved Merckx. Lance uh you know the story. Gotta get some excellent athletes who can cycle win talk and have bling like Lance. Until then it is still Lance. The Eurps Know it and us gringos over here know it. One of the facts of life.
