Just so everyone is aware - next person to give a personal insult, put down, or provoke, bait, or incite someone else in this thread takes a week off.

Anyone who responds to any such insult will take a week off as well.

No exceptions.

Just so we're all clear:

Insult others = 1 week ban

Are we allowed to personally insult, put down, provoke, bait & incite Lance Armstrong?

Hmm I find it rather normal that the training program of a domestique differs from a leader... So why should they be training together the whole time :s It doesn't makes sense to me :p. AC probably just wants to have some fun because he knows he has this tour in the bag...

When I read Every Second Counts, he is very proud of the togetherness of Postal and training together. One would think spending more time together builds bonds and training together will enhance their ability to achieve their ultimate goal. I'm not saying every single minute they ought to be together.

One must wonder how his celebrity lifestyle (or any celeb for that matter) inherently builds a wall around themselves that keeps even the closest people at arm's length. I know if I was that rich and famous, the only people I would totally trust are my parents.

Is he trying to advertise us into submission with his pukey Mellow Johnny(irony, haw haw) and Gaydeo Slacks, all on the same page, I've just done hours on the bike in the sun and any thing attached to him is negative.
It's amazing how tiring exercise heightens unos sensibilities.

If I , having read back, have insultated The mighty(man)have fallen, then I will have acheeved some good toaday.

Now, of course, he made a similar comment last year at about this time as well.
I remember Lance saying last year before TdF that he was in 2003 form. He wasn't, his Annecy TT was a joke. Before I see prologue on saturday all this "im close to my best form"-talk is nonsense to me.

I believe he said he was hitting his 2002 numbers last year. That being said, we agree. The prologue will be the proof.

Edit: So I am watching the Verbier stage last night and something Lance said in his post-stage interview jumped out at me. Basically, he said that it was the first time he had done something like that (I assume racing a MTF for the win) since he had retired. What jumped out at me was that he really hasn't done that since Verbier. I don't really have a point here, just thought he would have made an effort to test himself at some point in an actual race before the Tour.

Well the Boss is back:

Funny how it all came together at the right time. Like don’t be surprise if all of a sudden he’s climbing with the best because the numbers are totally showing he’s back in form. Forget Murcia, forget the CI, forget the ToC the form has come back. As if by magic.

Hog, Lance is 39.
Yes he is super awesome, but he is 39.

Lance will not be able to climb with the best this year.
He would OUTCLIMB the best for sure this year if he were in his prime.
But c'mon....he is ThirtyNine.

But he may stay close enough to keep things interesting:)

Why people keep saying he's 39, doesn't he get 39 in september? If he fails the age factor will kick in once again as I've read hundreds of time already from him...

Because he's closer to 39 than he is to 38. He'll be 38 and approximately 10 months at the start of the Tour.

Oh no I already feel a year older :(. I'm the most curious to see his torso at the teams presentation, because if he still looks like a bodybuilder, he can hit whatever numbers he wants but will be dropped awefully with all that unneeded weight.

He won't look like a body builder. He will look largely (if not exactly) how he looked last year. I'm (one of the few) that doesn't expect an improvement over his 2009 performance--which I thought was pretty dam good.

That and way too much is made of his "age". He is not an overraced throwback so, unless his medical programs have advanced his biological age past it's prime; he should be considered the same rider. The same rider that sprinted up steep hills? No. Different time and program.

I can't agree with that totally.

Age does matter to some degree. Eventually it catches up to everyone. While the "program" may be a larger factor... the extra years don't help.

So what is the consenus in here about where he will place? I'm thinking 5-10.

No higher then 3rd. Most likely around 5th. No lower then 10th (I think he'd drop out if it looked like he'd finish lower then that).

I think Dr. Ferrari will work some serious magic, and Armstrong will have an unbelievable jump in performance over anything he has displayed since his return. Ligget and Sherwen may die during an on-screen orgasm. Bobke will disjoint at least one arm while gesticulating wildly in the air.
