Presumably he will lead the Dutch in Tour de l'Avenir this year? I hope they release details of the stages soon. Should be a good race against Quintana.

BTW, you guys think he looks young? Wait until you hear him speak.
Yep. It's also the video where Flavio has the guy's name all wrong, he's called Daniel Holm Foder, not Foder Daniel HolmSpine Concept said:That's the same video where the Norwegian - who's second on the GC after Wilco - and his mates say that he looks like a girl.

(if that wasn't a bat-signal for a certain poster...)
He also caused carnage on this stage in Castilla y Leon, only to get dropped himself on the final climb (which wasn't as steep). Personally I don't think Kelderman will be able to beat him in the Tour de l'Avenir... Quintana is in a league of his own, among the U23s.Tuarts said:Heh, the Columbian who won Avenir last year got the Vuelta e Catalunya KOM. Did not know that. Where's his own thread?

so no.
he is also not build like hagen and hushovd
Well, then we can change the thread title to "Wilco Kelderman is the new Robert Gesink"Jakob747 said:Since I work as an agent/manager for one of W. Kelderman’s biggest youth rivals (Toms Skujins), I have had the chance to follow him on quit a few occasions by now and I must admit he has impressed me a lot. It’s evident he possesses a little extra, especially when the roads tilt skywards!
Although potential wise, I think he and Toms are pretty similar.
The only chin-k in his amour I have seen so far is that he doesn’t seem overly confident changing pace while riding uphill; he looks much more comfortable just riding tempo.
He seems to have great race-intelligence as well though. Overall a very, very big talent!
Dutch cycling looks incredible bright.
Joop Zoetemelk, in 1980. Which is more recent than the last Belgian winner, Lucien van Impe in 1976. We're not a big cycling nation, so it's a consolation that one of the biggest cycling nations does worse than usthe asian said:10th in the tour Avenir is impressive. He will have a good chance this year then. Should be up against a bunch of Colombians. However the dutch mafia better dont have too high hopes of him winning a tour in the future. When was the last time a Dutch rider won the tour?? Way back in the 70s I think.

Youngest you evil conductor of the CN forum-choir, you know I'm a compulsive biter.
Check out the results of the classics and even GT stage wins in the last decade or so. Weening in Giro must have been refreshing for you guys, while most of us already forgot about Bart de Clercq's stage win.

Yes, that's what makes Belgium a much bigger cycling nation than the Dutch, who currently watch from the sidelines while the big boys play. And that's why it's surprising that your last winner of the Tour (i.e. the biggest cycling race on earth) was 35 years ago.boomcie said:Youngest you evil conductor of the CN forum-choir, you know I'm a compulsive biter.
