Djokovic actually has a good record against Alcaraz. I think he would have fared better in the other semi.

But seriously the problem with current year Djokovic is he's incapable of making it to the latter stages of a slam in one piece without his body starting to fall apart in one way or another.

This is how the end happens. Same for Nadal and Federer.
He wasn't injured at Roland Garros. At Wimbledon he was injured due to a slip and fall that can happen to anyone, although injury there is more likely if you're older.

But that's just grass tennis. Everyone slips 15 times, some get injured, and all the tennis fans are drooling at the idea of "why isn't there more grass tennis" when in reality without Wimbledon they would have torched every grass court long ago.

In general, you're right though. Usually players end their careers because of injury more so than just getting old and declining slightly year by year. Djokovic at RG was the first time that looked like the latter.
