And the woes continue.

Djokovic out of Doha, walking around with taped elbow. Murray out of Brisbane, rumoured to suffer from a torn labrum, and considering surgery after all, in which case he probably be out for the entirety of 2018.

Kyrgios struggling to get through a match in Brisbane with multiple problems it seems. He won but his next matches could be interesting.

Andy Murray officially out of the Australian Open.
He's really gonna need the surgery, and some tennis fans were mentioning hip replacement surgery. If that's the case it's really the end for Murray.

Yes his press conferences have become funeral like when talking about his injuries. Players are simply wearing out. Federer has showed the right approach and he probably never had a choice if he wanted to keep playing. About time the WTA looked at the ridiculous schedules for these players.

A lot of it isn't even due to the players themselves. It's got a lot to do with game style, body type and pure luck. Murray should've taken a large break a lot sooner though. He was struggling all year last year

So, Murray already had surgery on the hip. Hopes to be back by the grass court season. Will drop out of the top 100 for sure. 6 months seems early for a surgery like this.

These days probably not. Bike riders seem to get back on the bike quicker and quicker from collarbones and other injuries. Richie Porte was back in training fairly quickly after breaking his pelvis in the Tour. Different injuries but still. Tennis is very repetitive so maybe you are right it might be optimistic for a hip injury. I'm surprised more tennis players don't have such injuries and operations but most of them probably prefer to opt for retirement if they are older. Azarenka out of the Womens draw due to a child support case ! You would think she would be able to re-schedule the hearing or court case.

For Nadal it's not important to win. Nadal needs to reach the QF round to keep stay world #1, and he better go deeper cause otherwise he'll likely lose in the week of Dubai/Acapulco and not get it back anytime soon, depending on if Federer defends the sunshine double.

Federer is the only favorite. Djokovic, may be the only other favorite, but I we'll see that in the first few rounds. Kyrgios, Dimitrov and Goffin are the only other guys in it with a chance. I don't believe for a second in the chances of Alexander Zverev.

The draw will be more crucial than ever. Many of the most dangerous guys are low in the rankings. Djokovic is 14th and will draw one the top 4 guys in the 4th round. Same for Del Potro and Wawrinka in 12th and 9th (both are higher in the live rankings) Kyrgios will draw one of the 9-16 guys in the 3rd round and may land anywhere in the QF.

halep is completly spent, so I don't know if she will survive tomorrow.
kyrgios seems to lack physical condition to play more than 3 hours. I totally see (now) a semifinal between dimitrov and nadal, and roger vs djokovic. Federer has everything to win a 20th grand slam.
