1st one that comes to mind is Barré, I'd think, as he currently is clearly the best rider they have.
But if you prefer a German link, Rex is from the German speaking part of Belgium, so language isn't an issue in his case either.
In a structure with official Devo it doesn't matter that much. First team riders like Herzog and Hajek often join Rookies, while Devo riders race with main team.
3 guys from the Devo Team to the world Tour is not bad for a first year programme.
Not necessarily, when this type of situation arises it up to how the team manages it and what systems are put in place for handle such matters.
Allowing him to develop further in all areas, not just on the bike but also off I would imagine? How many of these young kids come in all great on training peaks and then go missing after 2 seasons and never develop to their full potential?
When you look how that project has done in its 1st year from Grenke to Rookies, it is for me very impressive and also encouraging to see. Grenke is 2 steps above any year when Shrot was in managing it, not only in doubling their race wins, but the amount of riders winning, not being subject to 3 or so winners only.
The Rookie project being brand new and I was questioning their rider choice pre-season thinking this is average at best, has developed riders well beyond their previous season and expectations. When you look at this, whatever plan Wakefield has laid out for Lorenzo Finn would tend to believe or think it is the right one by doing another season in Rookies
Every team that has accumulated talent has ended having ego problems. Contador-Armstrong in Astana. Roglic left Jumbo. In his case, they was lucky that he wasn't a young talent, but imagine that situation if Roglic was 10 years younger.
Sooner or later, those situations will break down. Skjelmose is already complaining without even starting the season. In the Ardennes, who will be the leader of Lidl? The rider who signing like a star, the one who won Amstel or the one who finished second in Liège? It could take a while, but eventually someone leaves the team, and not in the best way.
Yes. Nothing is certain. Vingeggaard's results as an under-23 rider were truly mediocre, despite being the oldest in the category. He finished half an hour behind Pogacar at Avenir.
Maybe the guy who finished half an hour behind Seixas and Finn will win two Tours 😅.

It was about Rex yeah, but according to Benson it's off the table (no idea what the reason is yet).
Perhaps they want to give more riders from the Devo Team a chance. There isn't much space left. Fietzke said in an interview at the World Championships that he has a rough idea of who will be promoted. Since three have already been announced, it sounds to me as if at least one or two more may be added. That would probably be Donati or Jasch.

I don't think it was a Red Bull choice as the contract was basically agreed (4 different sources), not 100% a done deal (hence why press didn't make it public) as Rex technically was not free yet. Maybe Rex got convinced by the Lotto Intermarché project (I don't know) to stay after all or another team snatched him. Or Benson is wrong. I can't be bothered to find out, we'll see.
It wouldn't surprise me if Red Bull gives the spot to another Rookie now tho.
Indeed, huge makeover of the sporting managment team! Feels like there are two blocks: Former Ineos/Sky guys and then some belgium guys and guys who I think will concentrate on one day races.
Reg. Eisel, I am not really suprised. He is very charesmatic and good with the media, but I dont feel like he is a particulary strong sporting director.
I can't judge how strong he is as a sporting director. But recently, he has always been given assignments at the important races. That's why I thought he had a good reputation. On the other hand, of course, none of the old bosses are there anymore. And in the end, it may well be that he didn't want to stay in the new combination.
I think he could have been a great help to Lipo and Co. in the downhill races, and from a marketing perspective, it's always good to have a German-speaking DS when communicating with the German media as a German team. Now there's almost no one left.
