I certainly saw nothing that suggests he can't get another 3rd place in the Tour this year. Which is the best possible result even without his accident, provided the other two are at their usual level.Well, he is not going to win this Tour de Romandie. Strangely enough his performance ended up better than expected. Once I saw him sliding during the first half of the final climb i was expecting worse. Remco slightly underestimating the levels of his fellow riders methinks during his last couple of interviews. Still a performance to build on.
Joke's on you, he won the prestigious UAE Tour already...This guy is actually never gonna win a one week WT race
UAE Tour? This guy is actually never gonna win a one week WT race
Yeah … I have the same feeling . Even the best Remco is no match against Jonas / Pogi in TDF . Without the accident in December , he must have felt that he could become stronger than last year and while that is still possible , somewhat , i doubt it will be enough . That too can become demotivating after a while …I certainly saw nothing that suggests he can't get another 3rd place in the Tour this year. Best he can do is be in the best possible position to profit if Pogacar and/or Vingegaard crash out or have a really bad day.Yeah … I have the same feeling . He won the UAE tour and Poland. This guy is actually never gonna win a one week WT race
It make sense, Remco could've probably gone a bit faster alone, but for someone with his palmares, getting 5th rather than 8th in TdR makes no difference at all.Actually riding for a teammate in a prep race is a classy move. Probably didn't have the legs to be with the best and decided to help a teammate.
Feel like if Remco thought he had the goods, he'd have been racing for the win.I don't know what to make of it. He decides to help Lecerf early on the climb. Drops 45 sec rather rapidly while watching if Lecerf can follow and then keeps dragging him and others for 7 km while slowly dropping a similar amount, still watching continuously if Lecerf follows. What would be his result if he would simply hang on without pulling? A 30-45 sec loss max? A potential 2nd place with a small chance of 1st if Almeida has an issue tomorrow? Who is making these decisions in the team? Remco himself?
He should win tomorrow and take back time, so if he went all in today and didn't lose so much time.It make sense, Remco could've probably gone a bit faster alone, but for someone with his palmares, getting 5th rather than 8th in TdR makes no difference at all.
He got back on the bike in February. Not much base.Remco severly lacking in climbing. I understand he's been injured, but on the other hand, the accident happened begin December, we're May... I have serious doubts about the coaching of SQS.
I have questions about team management too.Remco severly lacking in climbing. I understand he's been injured, but on the other hand, the accident happened begin December, we're May... I have serious doubts about the coaching of SQS.
2-3 months is not much?He got back on the bike in February. Not much base.
Last year in a period of around 20 days after the Dauphine he made an astronomical jump in his level for the Tour. Things are looking good for him.Remco severly lacking in climbing.
