I'm waiting for next 2 stages before preliminary verdict.
If I'm honest Vingegaard did not look much better from what little i've seen from the highlights, and judging from the timegap. It's only Pogacar that is that much better. I can be very wrong ofcourse in my assesment. I'll see today and tomorrow.
The big difference is that Vingegaard in the last 3 years has been consistently been much better than this, while Evenepoel has never been that significantly ahead of the rest of the pack in the mountains.

Each of the the big MTFs last year he was closer to Almeida or Landa depending on who came 4th than he was to Pogacar or Vingegaard, with the exception of Isola which is when Vingegaard gave up on winning the Tour and decided to just defend 2nd place. And Evenepoel shipped 1'42 to Pogacar while putting 18 seconds into Almeida.

And the day they didnt wait for the final climb. Almieda got mauled

As a very big Remco fan , and believing the hype all week ( until yesterday ) , I was really excited for this day . However , now I just hope that he can be a little better than yesterday . If he can do that , then at least we have an indication that he is not that bad in the mountains and that he can find those extra gains in the coming weeks leading up to TDF . One can hope …

When did this bromance with Remco&Bardet start and where did it originate from. Was it only that big brakeaway they shared at Vuelta 23, cause seems like there's more to it. Bardet is having like an big brother/guardian attitude towards Remco and it's highly respectable to see. Or is it also something that can only be discussed elsewhere connecting them. For me Bardet has always been one of the most beliavable close to panaqua of the top pros, from the last decade or so. So maybe he feels like I do, that Remco is robbed a lot talentwise.

Yes, so you are just left with winning classics, worlds, TTs, stage races, giro, vuelta - not worth getting out of bed for, best retire. Not sure why mvdp even rides 😉
Remco has already done all that and more (not the Giro), and will continue to do that. But I thought we were talking about TDF.

To be fair by the looks of it all top tier riders except Pog himself would do well just dodging the guy and focus on winning other stuff.

Yes, I believe it started in La Vuelta 23. It would have been nice to see them as team mates

remco riding without the gold helmet.
i kinda like it. Maybe cause of cooling helmet or cause of change in mindset. But i like it.

I like the golden helmet, he should also ride with golden shoes. And if the UCI allows it, golden shorts.

Because Bardet is like a mother, he actually cares when an opponente goes down, like Alaphilippe in the woods in Liege. He cared for Julian at his expense. It's the mark of a great person.

Reality check for Remco during those last two stages. The gap to the mutants hasn't narrowed over the last year. Third at the Tour seems the best he can achieve (if no bad luck strikes Pogi or Vingo).

You can't come back from this, neither physically, nor mentally. It's like a bufalo 🐃 against an elephant. 🐘 One is simply overpowered and must accept it or be killed.

Remco needs a 100km TT to be competitive in his current shape
Yes, and probably a decent amount more than that if the mountains stages are decently hard. Focusing so much on the ITT is close to worthless in stage races nowadays with Pogacar and Vingegaard simply because the differences are so big in the mountains.

MAYBE a 2012 course (as long as there is also a 7km prologue)
