It's not the problem IMO . He never showed a good climbing level this year meanwhile he rode some of his best classics and TTs this year.
Did he? Classics he rode a great BP, against a shitty WVA, and a great AGR. He was *** at FW and LBL. Then he was *** at Romandie, Dauphine and TDF when he needed to climb. Sure he did great ITT's, but that's a different kind of effort and when you sit perfectly on a bike it's a bit easier.

I expected much more of him, because at no time did he gave me the impression that maybe something was wrong. Sure Dauphine was ***, but they said it was allergies. NC RR he couldn't close the gap to Wellens, but he worked the most all day. There were reasons to think it would be fine. Until he actually completely collapsed during the TDF, and was dropped by 80 riders.

This is what I said. I think it's just hypocritical to write one thing 3 months ago and today are writing the opposite.

Yup. I think he has had an objectively crap season so far. Hopefully he can straighten out any health related stuff. The complete collapses he has had do strike as possible an overtraining or energy deficiency issues.

I do hope he switches teams and hopefully coaches. Could be exactly the change he needs (or at least a creates some curiosity on what happens next)

he's doing San Sabastien and then NOTHING until the worlds?

Are they sneaking a Vuelta or something? That schedule makes ZERO sense

If there is one thing Remco (and many other in this generation) have shown again and again it is that he doesn’t need to do races to get into form.
Not having the time from injury to do races would demonstrate just the opposite. Racing forces stresses, not metering them as training usually allows unless he's training with someone stronger than him. His pack awareness skills also could use more honing. Being strong through training and wasting energy during racing nets part of what we've seen. IMO he needs to get his confidence in his overall strength and recovery back on the commanding side if he's to do more GTs. He's done it before and can do it again.

I'd have thought building up.with.a stage race like Pologne or Tour of Britain is better than jumping back into San Sebastian then a huge break.

He can do Pologne/Britain then the Worlds and EC. He can then assess the position about a couple of the Italian one day fall races and lombardia depending on form

I prefer my schedule. if we are looking for races.

August
-Bemer classic (possibly too soon)
-Circuit Franco-Belge
- Bretagne Classic

September
- Tour of Britain

- Then in october the real goal of UEC Road Race (&TT)
-Give Lombardi a go

Possibly finish the season with Chrono des Nations.

However depending on Remco health it might be better to skip everything till EUC.

Too much racing imo, and there's also only 2 weeks between Tour of Britain and WC ITT. I would like the following:
  • Take 2 weeks of holiday, until 3rd of August
  • Train for 3 weeks in Calpe/Belgium
  • Deutschland Tour (20/08-24/08)
  • Another week of training in Calpe/Belgium where he's with Oumi and family
  • Go to altitude on the 1st of September, and maybe even do the altitude training in Rwanda like Campenaerts used to do
  • Win WC and UEC double
