Currently he can't stand watching the Giro. Not being there hurts too much. He's doing training rides of 70km already, he seems to have the right "feeling" on the bike (not afraid in corners etc).

He's scheduled to resume competition end of January (i assume that would be San Juan, where he started the past two seasons).

PS: he again said riding the TDF would depend on the Olympic games.

Well since we are less than 10 months away from the Olympics and covid is surging again, I won't be surprised if they are cancelled so that would give more freedom for Remco to ride the Tour.

Not specifically about Evenepoel, but what is the chance that European riders will be flying across the world (San Juan, TdU) again in January? That's only 3 months away from now, and it still seems so 'unreal' that the racing calendar will be fully back to normal. Many people have kept saying that we have to be patient and have made all kinds of plans for 2021, from race organisers, festival organisers, travel agencies,... But it still seems many of those plans are just wishful thinking.

I would be very suprised if it didnt go ahead, South Australia has opened its borders the earliest to the rest of australia and we have been letting in sports stars from other countries already, plus people like Tom Hanks for films. When it comes to cash our Govt will do it.

The South Australian Government definitely wants the race to ahead in some shape or form - The fact is even though riders stay at one hotel a 14 day quarantine where you can't train outdoors will not wash with the teams, the riders or the UCI - You only have to look at how SA is treating the Victorian sheffield shield cricketers - Must quarantine for 14 days - Can train each day in groups of only four with a police escort from the venue to the hotel facility - Possibly a soft quarantine could work for the cyclists if they can train outdoors each day with no coffee stops - You also have the issue that many Aussie cyclists will stay in Europe over the winter because they dont want to pay 15K for airfares and do 14 days quarantine which means the Aussie Nationals will probably be delayed in 2021 - There is lots to play out.

The average age of Corona victims in Belgium is 83 years, which is even higher than the average life expectancy. It's a valid question whether it's worth shutting down society, compromising kids educations and ruin a country's finances for. I'm not even talking about the mental health of many isolated individuals. I hope the consequences won't be too bad in the next few years.
I won't go further into this.

The average age globally from studies so far into Long Covid i.e. suffering serious symptoms for many months post infection is 43. Just because you don't die from it doesn't prevent it from having a significant debilitating effect on your health in the long term.

If you mean the article Evenepoel didn’t write it. He’s hardly the most disliked rider in the peloton. The most disliked riders don’t do what Remco did in the 2019 WC RR in trying to bring Gilbert back to the peloton.

Definitely agree with you about the team thing. Nobody in cycling would be surprised if it turned out that twitter comment had instead been by Patrick Lefevre. When the boss of the team sets the tone it’s not altogether surprising that others follow.
