PS. Only problem with a Cipressa attack is that there will still be too many full teams willing to chase him down. And if he still manages to crest the Poggio in front he better have 30 seconds or more cuz that descent…quite frankly, I would rather he target something else. The last thing we need is another Remco crash. Cycling is utterly boring without him racing.

Maybe some sort of chicken or egg story. If he fears Evenepoel is going to leave, better to cash out now and/or get in new money to tie Evenepoel to the team. On the other hand, not being able to find new money and form a top notch GT team for Evenepoel, would be why he is looking elsewhere to begin with.

I'm done with this nanny approach from Lefevre, give this man the same schedule as Pogacar, proper one day races and the Tour. I want to see him in Flanders, Amstel, Lombardia, heck even MSR. There's no point holding him back, he can win these.

If he goes to Ineos I fear he will do GC attempts the Ineos way. Meaning some stage races and a lot of altitude training, then Dauphine and the Tour. I don’t see that as very exciting.

Agree..... he needs a team that will facilitate his abilities rather than a team that gets its leaders to ride a certain way.

He’s got enough leverage and willpower to get what he wants from any team. “What would he program look like” is going to be part of any discussion. Plus, INEOS isn’t that dumb, they’d love to have a world champ and LBL (and other classic) wins on their team.

I don’t think Ineos look at Pidcock and think “this guy can win Tour de France this year, we should make sure he prepares fully for that”.

You'd be surprised. INEOS and Kurt (his personal trainer) are of the opinion that Pidcock is a sleeping giant when it comes to winning grand tours.

With Pidcock they think “in the future”. With Remco it would be “immediately”.

What do you mean even worse than in the Giro? Besides Alaphilippe there wasn't any other rider that could've joined the train for the mountains and improved it?

Strength in general, as opposed to Jumbo, UAE and INEOS. Not what is in their current file of riders. The squad in the Giro was the best QuickStep can offer, yet it's not up to par.
Something lost in translation here? Is it that he won't lead in the Vuelta, but gets thrown Pologne as a bone?
