Spain loves the night, eats late, it's cultural, but you are not allowed to be so unprofessional when organizing a bike race. ALL cyclists need to race in the daylight.

Yeah I’m with Remco here, but also at some point he’s going to realize that this was the best possible result for him, barring crashes. Big unexpected advantage. But he is also right to argue for safer and more fair conditions.
Advantage or disadvantage isn't the issue here, but riding in the darkness versus riding in the light. I can't believe how poorly organized this was and the results are secondary, but it's crazy that the UCI, which regulates so many inane details, didn't step in on this glaring disgrace. At any rate, the Vuelta organizers seem to have gotten the Barcelona movida to their heads.

btw...I watched the youtube video of Remco on the recon ride in Andorra. To me he seems very mature and likeable in character. He also is very confident, has a nice sense of humour and is becoming very knowledgeable in the sport.

In the F1 you have night races but the visibility is better than during the day due to the optimal lighting. Imagine switching the lights off when the streets are already dark due to the rain. It would be a disaster. Verstappen would be furious even if he could manage to win the race and avoid crashes. As a team leader it's responsible from Remco to say out loud what everyone thinks. I hope he keeps doing it. It has impact. This should definitely not happen again.

The clip is probably posted somewhere else but this has my respect. I am starting to really like this guy!
He’s the most interesting rider in the peloton. Unlike the majority of riders who utter the usual mundane stuff in interviews he’s not afraid to actually say what he thinks which I like. He has character and personality, might rub some people up the wrong way but at least he’s being himself.
