I'm also not that disappointed or worried, don't know why people should write him off.

He just told us that he was the worst of his team on training camp, coming back from an obvious physical obstacle. His level as of now is not disastrous at all, he just misses those couple of percentages as he is - indeed - not a lightweight Contadoresque climber. But it's still more than three weeks to the Tour, where the hardest stages are in the third week. Without any further setbacks, I believe we can get a very strong Remco in July.

The information that came from his father in that podcast that his shoulder was completely fine after examination, now seems to be completely false or highly inaccurate at best. Evenepoel mentioned after today's crash that his shoulder was bleeding and he hoped the plate in his shoulder hadn't shifted. If they needed to bolt in a plate, i think we can safely say there was at least something wrong after the crash in Pais Vasco.
Without an x-ray it's hard to know what's going on. Usually there is not a "plate" if it's a collarbone. It'll be a long screw, with the head very close to the skin at one end to facilitate easy removal once the bone(s) are rejoined. They just make an incision and back it out but it's vulnerable to impact. It could be no worse than an abrasion to cause a little bleeding.

It feels like you didn't read my post. Evenepoel himself said there is a plate in his shoulder, which means the information about nothing being wrong with his shoulder, was wrong.

They might "plate" the scapula as it's a larger area. Translations can confuse the surgical method but a collarbone break could be multiple pieces. I certainly don't know the actual fix Remco received but a localized wound at one end of the repair would likely be some hardware against the skin. Doesn't mean the repair has actually been displaced.

He has won the Vuelta, so ofc he is GT material. He's just too fat lmao, its *** laughable. Look at Vingegaard pictures in Mallorca, that guy was inactive for so long and still is ripped as *** cause he's a pro and have a good eating regiment and know what he needs to do.
I get what you’re saying but I certainly don’t of someone who looks like they’ve been in a POW camp ripped ;)

Can someone post a fat Remco pic from this week? I havent seen one and thats all the chatter on the Dauphine thread

- Remco wins a TT ahead of the Olympic and European champion
"Ofcourse he wins, he's the world champion, it's not that impressive even if he's coming back from a broken collarbone and serious shoulderinjury"
- Remco loses 40 seconds on a mountain TT finish to Roglic (who didn't break anything in Itzulia)
"Washed, you see he's overrated, won't be fit for the tour, should retire, not a top ten climber"

Gimme a break, the kid is 24 and has achieved more in his meager lifespan than all of us on this forum combined. The fact that he smashed a WT TT (against 2 of the 4 current best TT) after having broken his collarbone and scapula (!) 2 months earlier is mental. And that he's somehow already outclimbing the likes of Hindley and Haig who've had a spotless preparation sofar, also mental.
He's got time for the Tour, he'll be there in July

It's clear what happened, skijimper Roglic fan is not active on the forum anymore, because they are too busy being the full time trainer of remco

Now they finally get their experiment, when they can take a rider and do everyday 4 hours bodybuilding sessions, squats and shoulder presses, and then 45 minutes intervals on the spin bike. Remco has built an impressive physique. Bulbous and striated deltoids

And at the same time they turned remo back to a time trialise and specialist in baloise tour Belgium, so he is unable to compete with Roglic, and their beloved skijumper can take many more victories

he won a vuelta yes vs lesser fields and roglic even crashed. Theres many doubts regarding evenpoel in GT if you wanne compare him vs the best as of now he exceels more in one day races and particularTT's there is where he is best relative to others bests - as of now anyway not saying it cant or wont change.

If the measurement is he can top 3 or top 5 he obv is GT material now too but yeah.
