Yeah. I don't think Del Toro is that good of a climber, definitely not in multi-mountain stages. I'm definitely not the only one thinking that. I don't even think he's top 5.

About Roglic, I know a lot of his fans think it might still be Roglic. They feel that if he didn't crash during TDF 2024, he would've showed that. I disagree, but it's not like we actually know. Both riders haven't been able to show their true level in 2025.
We will see. I'm pretty sure Del Toro will be top5 in the TdF and those who claim he is not a world class climber are relying only on San Valentino. He is way better now and I will be shocked to see Remco and Lipo in front of him in the Tour.

Why? What are you basing your expectations on?

2024 Remco was a great climber, one of the best in the world.
2025 Remco was a tier 2/3 climber.
You, just like everybody else, have absolutely no idea what 2026 Remco will be like.
What we know for sure is that UAE Remco is the 2025 Remco, not the 2024.

The 2025 Remco wasn't racing in February but recovering from a major injury. The 2026 Remco of February won't be close to the 2026 Remco of July. What this means for his performance end of March is not clear. He is neither peaking for Catalunya.

Every other contender will also be better in July than Mars, and they aren't either peaking for Catalunya.

They are peaking for PN, Tirreno, and the spring classics, or gearing up for the giro
We about to enter the period of the season were most riders hit their second highest peak.

Same, he'll be peaking for LBL.

Probably in a more hillier version of himself than for the TdF, but he should hit one of his biggest peak qua form around LBL for the season.

Anyone else targeting Liege will be aiming for 2nd.
I know Remco is brilliant on such a course. The man has won it twice and in a dominant fashion.

But I just don't see him beating Pogi. Unfortunately. Even if Remco gets away from everyone, Pogi will still follow and beat him in the two man sprint.

You're right.... you just never know.
I hope he does win it. I'm tired of Pog breaking everyone's spirits.
Doubtless the psychological factor weighs heavilly. Remco has clearly been broken mentally by Pogacar. He may claim otherwise, but it's plain to see. He must first rejuvinate his spirit against him, if he has any chance beating him.

Pog is slightly better in a lot of races, so it’s possible with other riders being lucky that he doesn’t win anything
Hes not slightly better, hes in a completely different stratosphere overall. There are only a very few selective races where MvdP is better or where its close. In everything else Pogacar is on a completely different level.

He won TDF by 4min last year. That's not a different stratosphere

The guy was sick and slightly hurt and the onus was clearly not on him to attack to gain more time as if that was somehow necessary? yet still noone was even remotely close..

When will the mental gymnastics seriously end? Whats wrong to face that which is so blatantly obvious. Hes miles ahead, like mileeees. Imagine watching whats going on and be honest with themselves and think otherwise. Wild

Thats fine it doesnt matter nor does it change anything I just genuinly dont see the problem admitting hes miles ahead of everyone when its way past beyond obvious even.

Like we watch the WC last year and your conclusion is he is slightly better? I mean lets be serious its not hard..One thing doesnt mean the other either btw.

For curiosity, who had the most dominant win? 2025 Pogacar or 2023 Vingegaard? I should create a poll with this.
In 2023, stage 17 was a complete domination from Vingegaard while the other stages they were quite close. Pogacar in 2025 was a bit better over multiple instances.
