I actually hope Evenepoel goes on Collada de Sant Isidre. Let RBH set a decent pace on Coll de Pradell to make sure most teams only have a few riders lefts. Then just go all-in on Collada de Sant Isidre. Obviously Vingegaard will be able to follow, and hopefully this time he does ride along. Might help him get on the podium.
RBH cannot ride so hard they drop Remco, so lots of riders will be present.

Lol, in all seriousness only 20 people max would be able to follow. if there is a descent the number drops to 10 during it. No way gall , paret peintre, Uijtdebroeks ... can follow on a decent descent actually racing on it. Also if remco in in shape, he does have a motor. and he can endurance his way to the podium. Ofcourse if he ain't in shape cause of crash costing recovery energy, he'll just destroy himself real quick.

Lol, from so far out, everyone will follow.

I don't think it will be up to RBH. I won't be surprised if Vingegaard launches on Pradell.

If anything I think a move inbetween the climbs make more sense because that's where 2 seconds of hesitation can get him a gap that they don't pull back any time soon. Whether that be on the small kicker in the Pradell descent or after San Isidre.

If wait till San Isidre entirely you kinda risk Vingegaard just ripping everything to shreds to the point you can't really play team games anymore.

I have no idea really. i'm just assuming there is a decent climb in which not everyone will be able to follow if they race on it, assuming a decent descent that not everyone is able to follow on if they race on it. and assuming some people want to help remco on the flat before the final climb. If lipo, vingegaard, pidcock, and a few others are there and they work. i see remco gaining some spots to podium. but like I said i have no idea. no clue about tommorow profile. just letting things come my way and surprise me. I know what to expect in barcelona stage. the rest is a questionmark to me.

In all honesty i also don't care about remco getting podium, or not. It's all about the impression. And that impression is already a bit murky cause of the crash. Still he looked okay today (injury wise), so i'll assume this is more or less his climbing level atm.
not where he needs to be, but respectable. and after the ardennes he has another 2 months to get where he needs to be to compete with everyone not named pogacar. We'll see how good Vingegaard is on his second peak. Maybe it will give him that extra kick to challenge tadej , or maybe it takes something away reducing him to fight with others for second place.

At this point i just want to see if remco can still compete at a high level over 3 weeks and fight for podium, win in a GT without the aliens. Maybe the answer is no. That would surprise me. But injuries have changed careers before, especially since remco is probably more naturally inclined to 1 day racing to begin with.

Yeah, the Barcelona stage should be Remco's. No reason for Jonas to chase him there.

Remco is what he is

an elite TT rider who can climb very well, but he is not the best climber.

Unfortunately, Prudhomme has Gouvenou and Guillen (tweedle dee and tweedle dumb) as his race directors. Both of whom have a life threatening allergy to the time trial
I'm sorry but with his climbing level there's no reasonable amount of TT at all that you can include in the Tour to make him competitive for the win. Even in his best climbing days, he'd need close to 15 minutes to actually have a chance to win

I hope in the next year or two, we see a Giro with a 12km prologue, mid race 50km ITT, and penultimate stage 50km ITT.

Have early uphill stages on Etna and Montevirgine.
A strade stage.
Mid race crosswind stages
Have a couple of stages on the likes of Oropa and Prato Nevoso.
Tempered high mountain stages finishing on Alpe Motta and Sestrieres.

He surely could win that.

That's fine too. Even less riders that could chase Evenepoel if he goes then. I don't think he can win it, I do think he can make a play for the podium

I'm here just to read the excuses and have a good laugh reading the various comments 🤣. I really hope at Bora they won't sacrifice the chances of better stage racers. 🥲
I dont think your alone. At this point we’re running on the same excuses for years, sitting in a circle singing kumbaya telling ourself hes a elite climber. So theres that. I dont know if its more of a good laugh or concerning at this point.

King Patrick already said it is a shame he is so obsessed with GTs. Probably wanted to say this a long time ago when he was in Quickstep.
But this year, it will be the end of his dream specially when he sees younger riders like Seixas, Lipo and Del Toro in front of him in the Tour.
