Remco definitely has the right build for RVV, however the fight for position is what will be the issue IMO. He should've done Omloop or even Dwars door vlaanderen today to prepare. I think this is what Remco should be focusing on rather than Grand Tours and its the right move.
the way Red BUll have been riding the classics positioning will be a non issue for Remco.

It's been planned all year
I though the same too. Altitude camp before the Ardennes may be a beard too, well that's just my theory. But that kinda gives chance to step aside from limelights and work pressure free.

Anyways refreshing and thumbs up for him to show the best he has.

This has been the big spring goal the whole time, not LBL

May explain why he showed up to UAE looking like he just ate a large pizza hut pizza every day for a week before the race, and why he rode like he did at Cataluyna

Anyway, it far far far from being easy task for him. Like we saw in Catalonia, he's quite hothead still, that is a big challenge for him. Engine is top five, top three, sometimes even top two. I think his bike handling skills are good enough for most situations. But even Ronde needs clever head, to make right decisions at the right moment. Probably many key moments will happen and still only some of them are decisive.

Not sure if this was his big spring goal. Wouldn’t you ride other cobbled classics too?

It changes the perspective on Catalonia, it was a 7 day training race it explains what he did in stage 3 and also the intervals in the last stage he was practicing positioning. Quite impressive to finish nr.5

Great news that he rides RVV. It's unbelievable that a top3 one-day racer of the decade has ridden only two distinct monuments. Next year MSR must be the 4th. BTW it's very rare that all Pogacar, Evenepoel and Van der Poel compete in the same classic: mainly due to no overlap in Remco's and Mattieu's monuments plus also Remco's injury before Liege 2024 and Pog's withdrawal from the Olympics. Only WC 24' and 23' in recent times.

I would 100% have him at least recon Roubaix, and just let him test a little against teammates to see how it goes on a dry day early in the season.

Not necessarily, because he's always thinking of the Tour, thus a hard March stage race is in order AND you get in great shape for Flanders. It's unorthodox but we'll see how effective on Sunday.
