You would have to ask him that.Remco likely didn't feel too good at the start of Redoute and couldn't even stay near Pog and Seixas just before Pog's attack.
He had plenty left in the end from what I saw.

I disagree on that he tried. He tried... he just wasn't good enough and very far from the other 2.
You would have to ask him that.

Interview says otherwise. You would have to ask him that.

He also pulled that group the most, attacked to close down Skjelmose and did a long sprint holding off everyone.I think there's a big difference between riding on flat and on steep climbs (esp. for aero guy like Remco). Remember MVP getting dropped by dozens of guys on Redoute before sprinting to 3rd two years ago?
Cool, then I will just believe actions and what I saw more than words.Interview says otherwise.
Merlier would’ve also smoked Pogi in the sprint if he “had survived”His sprinting is looking impressive. Remco would've smoked Pogi at the finish had he survived Pogi's attack.
Give him a few kg of muscles more and he is the new Cavendish. His sprinting is looking impressive. Remco would've smoked Pogi at the finish had he survived Pogi's attack.
Fair enough, he looked honest about it all. especially since the reporters did not went with the harder questions imo.Cool, then I will just believe actions and what I saw more than words.
Also fair, but I will stick with my perspective on it.Fair enough, he looked honest about it all. especially since the reporters did not went with the harder questions imo.
said he stumbled into the breakaway. said the others went hard immediately on la redoute and felt that when an attack would come he would play no major role. Positioning was good, but legs were tired.
And honestly his positioning was not that bad. he just could not follow the accel.
Leave it to Naichaca to be dead wrong.I disagree with this guy. Remco isn't bad on this climbs compared to the rest of the peloton.

Based on?He should weigh 58-60kg
i think he knew his limits and that he had to ride like thatOk, Remco's climbing is not great but he drops even before it really starts. It's not just the legs, it's in the head.
You dont know, unless you try.i think he knew his limits and that he had to ride like that
Agree, those two were at a completely diferent level, if he tries to follow, he would blow seconds later.i think he knew his limits and that he had to ride like that
What about Skjelmose, who he just beat in AGR? Skjelmose tried.Agree, those two were at a completely diferent level, if he tries to follow, he would blow seconds later.
Idk man, i am trying to be pretty objective about it, Remco had absolutely no chance to follow, period. So there isnt much tatics we can discuss, he had not much of a choice but doing his own tempoWhat about Skjelmose, who he just beat in AGR? Skjelmose tried.
It just doesnt add up with what happens after for me. The guy had more left in the tank simple and plain, from what I saw.Idk man, i am trying to be pretty objective about it, Remco had absolutely no chance to follow, period. Had it been enough to not get dropped on Redoute and being able to follow? Maybe not.
But at least I would have liked to see him try.
He always gets dropped on the crucial climbs and manages to stay strong until the end, so what he did after doesnt not give me any indication he could follow. It just doesnt add up with what happens after for me. The guy had more left in the tank simple and plain, from what I saw.

Sounds like excuses to me.Evenepoel said he would've blown up if he had tried. I think he knows his body better than us. The gap between the top2 and the rest was abysmal. There was no way Remco was even close to this climbing level, he felt the pace already before Pogi's attack.
