I think Oumi, Trine and Urska ought to get together and come up with a plan for their men post cycling career. Maybe a podcast might be fun!
“I have genes to gain weight easily. Oumi (his wife, ed.) has also told me that I will have to learn to take good care of myself after my career,” the Belgian said in an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws. After the winter, my arms are never toned, and they look a bit fuller. Apparently, I got that from my mom’s brother. My mom always sees that same physique returning.”

Jonas already has a career, carpenter. And fisherman is that doesn't work. Although, he's been into real estate lately so who knows at this point

Remco with his biscoff and pizza habits may be on a future episode of my 600 pound life, lol

Unless there is something fundamentally changed with Remco after the crash, this season proves that whilst Remco can climb with the very best (barring Jonas, Tadej, and now possible Seixas), he needs to be at his very best to able to do so. And that if he ain't at his best his climbing is the first thing that receives a significant knock.

The fact that he is confident he can lose 3-4 kg tells me he either can't handle that peak for long stretches or he is unwilling of holding his weight down throughout the entire year. or both.

In either case he might need to rethink which Races he wants to prioritise in the current peleton if that's the case.
Where before he was a favourite for LBL, he might better off targeting San Remo if he can't shed weight. I mean he was in good form, but clearly his climbing was mediocre (and he himself thinks the reason is his current weight ).

I mean if you think about it, it's kind of strange that Remco went into Catalunya and LBL thinking he can beat Jonas and Tadej when he himself must have known his climbing whilst improved from UAE was still not were it needs to be. At the same time, his riding style in both may suggest that for all his bravado he knew he could only beat them under different tactics under current form. Hence the attack on stage 3 and working with the break in LBL.

Remco reminds me a bit of Ullrich. Not as bad offcourse. But like with Ullrich, Remco will have to keep in mind that the older he gets the harder it will be to shed that weight and get into shape.
