Scary no, but in this case workers rights and a (doping) fair trial will be pinnacle, cause Dutch judges on this level, can't afford to have their case move up to the next pigeonhole, without getting their ruling scrutinized.
Now is this bank popular ... well it's widely rated as arrogant, a nontransparent fortress, that survived the financial crisis with private aquity.
The bank had to pay Rasmussen € 700.000 the first time but appealed just as Rasmussen did demanding a payout of more then € 5 million.

Arnhem - On November 12 the Arnhem court will hear several witnesses in the appeal case of the Danish cyclist Michael Rasmussen and the Rabobank cycling team. Rasmussen is claiming damages of 5.8 million in a case that revolves around the dismissal of the Dane in the Tour de France of 2007.
After the appeal filed on 25 May counsel Knottnerus was initially going to rule on 7 August. The rider maintains that the team was aware from July 3 that he had lied to the UCI about his whereabouts before the Tour.
The cycling team says they did not know until 25 July 2007 that Rasmussen provided incorrect information about his whereabouts in June 2007, and that they received from the court the opportunity to confirm this via witnesses. This is going to happen on November 12.
Rasmussen already successfully fought his dismissal in 2008 and was awarded a compensation of over 700’000. This neither he nor the cycling team agreed with. A spokesman for the cycling team confirmed that at least two witnesses will be heard, but did not yet want to disclose names.

On Rasmussen blowing the gaff on doping - given the statute of limitations has not yet run down and the fact that he's still riding, I somehow find that hard to imagine.

Lol, I think the fact that this thread dates from 2009 illustrates that the Rabobank team, once again, needn't be afraid 
I was hoping to read some new stuff but digging up a thread and newspaper articles from 2009 doesn't help.
It only illustrates how much of these cases is hype, "the end of Rabobank"... lol, it's taking Rasmussen pretty long to bring them down

While his information could potentially broaden what is known I would doubt the Danish (Monaco?) fed would revisit it.
If he goes beyond the whereabouts violations for which he was punished + discusses doping you can bet on the UCI coming down on him. They do not want any more doors on the past being opened.

If, on the other hand and as you suggest it was a UCI conspiracy, are you implying they also mixed up Vino + Kashechkin's blood bags? PMQ had already declared Vino unworthy, he having revealed he was working with Ferrari ...

It came about because Davide Cassani met Rasmussen in Italy in June training up in the Alps before the TdF. Cassani and Rasmussen had a chat.
During the TdF it was mentioned that Rasmussen trained in Mexico for the TdF. Cassani said on live tv while commentating on the TdF, RAI3, no that is wrong that he met him up in the Alps in June. It snowballed from that.
