Indeed, what a catastrophe to find out that Pinot and Bardet threw this away! But I wonder why he was so slow to react, they said that he had messed up once again by not following Bardets inital attacks? (Followed the stage on radio)
He caught Bardet, sat on his wheel and began drinking (l' heure de l'apero, I supposeSimurgh said:Tonton said:I'm soooooooooo disappointed!Poor tactics. He coudda shoudda attacked as soon as he caught Bardet.

He said he would attack tomorrow (L'Equipe).Simurgh said:He was great today, until the descent..
Hope he doesn't attack tomorrow, too much descent, his best shot for stagewin is the Toussuire stage. It's a MTF stage, and here he can destroy the breakaway uphill without losing it downhill. Tomorrow has too much descent IMO and the winner will likely come from a small group (GC or breakaway) and Alpe d'Huez stage is too short, and GC guys will probably want a stage (thinking about Contador 2011 repeat).

A Tour top 5 doesn't mean that much for someone who's finished on the podium. If he can't go for the Podium he'd probably better off going for a few stage wins, or trying to finish on the podium in the Giro/Vuelta.

Why not trying a crazy attack? A very unlikely win but very spectacular attack which stays in the minds of the fans is still better than a 10th place, because noone will know who finished 10th in the lombardy 2015 in one or two years.Simurgh said:Thibaut Pinot said:Mon programme de fin de saison : Tour du Doubs, GP de Wallonie, Koolskamp, Tour du Gévaudan, Milan-Turin, 3 Valle Varesine, Tour de Lombardie.
Has ridden Lombardy since 2011 with the following results: 47, DNF, 12, 14. A top-10 would be a good result to end the season with!
