Everyone ? :p You're forgetting who's the reall TTchamp :p

I for one really like TT's, the only discipline in which rider really fight mano a mano and where teams are unimportant.
I focking love TT's :p

Ok but in Tours they are roughly equal. For classement contenders Tony is clearly number 1. I agree that Cance is clearly above him in one day TTs

The problem in the GT TT's is that le Canc doesn't really peak for them(talking about TdF here). He's absolutely amazing in april and wants to do good at the worls as well. So his 2 major peaks are in april and October/end of september. He's good in July but never at his absolute top. Whereas Martin peaks for le Tour and takes it easy in april. A 100 % Martin will lose a TT to a 100 % Cancellara in 99 out of 100 TT's

Nibali was brilliant, the best rider today. I wouldn't be surprise if Contador has a bad day tomorrow. He was close to being in red, and you don't see that often.
Contador close to being in red today? Unless you mean the points jersey, I have no idea what you're talking about.

I don't think Nibali is as good as they claim; plus now he has become a cry-baby too. He might win the Giro one day....bif maybe....and that's about all he'll accomplish.

all? So you think he'll be a multiple GT winner? Yeah, terrible.

now on a serious note.

nibali isn't the most spectacular GT guy but he sure is one of the best. he is also no doubt one of the smartest guys and i can see him retiring with a a couple of GT's while there are a few guys that seem to be more talented and are at risk of retiring with no GT wins due to their stubbornness of only riding the tour. also he is a diesel guy and don't diesel guys usually reach their top climbing level later then the explosive ones?

I love these hypotheticals.

Nibali's best qualities are consistancy and reliability. They are not Anton's best qualities.

So let's just pretend they are, and then magically Anton will beat him. Back in the real world, Nibbles won the Vuelta.
Yet Anton is only 1 second behind Nibali at this point, not even starting the Giro in form

And in the Vuelta last year Anton burned Nibali at virtually every MTF before he fell out

All credit to Nibali's performance today. But people are really overdoing it now

I think he's a very good rider, but at the moment, not in Contador's league. But then again, no one is.

Well, I like the way Nibali rode today. I think he laid it on the line and he showed his quality.

Frankly, though, I was hoping for an Igor Anton victory. He deserved that win today. He rode like a champion.

Let's remember, he suffered terrible bad luck at the Vuelta last year. Had that not happened...well...Nibali may have zero GT wins.

nibali is much better time trial than Anton, he can easily take one or even two minutes on 40 km flat course, so Anton has to attack tomorrow in the mountain stage if he has any GC ambition in this giro

to be fair you have been under-doing his performances big time. I have also in the past, but it is clear he is better then we thought.

I'm not so convinced. After 20 stages I'd be surprised if there is much difference in the tt.

How did Antón not start the Giro in form? He performed well in Castilla y León and Fleche.

Im sorry but i have to disagree, sure he looked slightly stronger be he was hardly burned. He gained 20 seconds on stage 11 on every other stage they finished together or within 3 seconds of each other.

Based on what exactly?

Saw Anton ITT results last 2 seasons, they are actually not that bad.
Did you ever see Nibali ride an excellent long ITT? I usually see him finishing between 10th and 15th. That's not what I call an excellent ITT specialist who can easily take 2 minutes...

I think Nibali is like Menchov but maybe a bit more talented. I think he could win a Giro, go well in a few TDF's and maybe win a world championship, ( very strong in Geelong )

For a guy who came off la vuelta, I thought he was quite dissapointing at the worlds. He made an attack but didn't really show much at all.

what are nibali's best tt results?
