Of course, Mr. MV
Aren't you tired of that....anti-games ? I mean really. lol

Of course Italians or other riders from same nations never cooperate. No chance.
End if this happens, but no chance of course, never, then it of course never works out, because Contador and Menchov won Giro. lol

Of course rubroma +1000 now, and, just because its cobblestoned that makes -10000 by MV.

I would say rubroma and me are both right with their conclusions, and whoever doubts that....can't be serious.

Mr.MV, did I steal you something ? Your sunshine or whatever ?
How old are you, Lulu ? Really ?
I'am 35 and can only laugh about your sandpit-mentality. Really.

I'm having difficulty following you here. I'm sure that riders from other nations don't cooperate, however, the Italians have made it a point to dramatize the issue to a degree of quasi-exaggeration.

Is there a particularly heated rivalry among the Italian pros, probably so. The Italian press certainly tries to sell stories to the public that this is indeed the case.

I remember the whole build up to the 06 Giro in the press: Cunego vs. Di Luca, Savoldeli vs. Simoni, everybody against Basso, etc., etc. It seemed like the Guelph and Ghibelline factious rivalries between the XIV century Tuscan communes of old.

Good luck at LBL Cancellara ;)

And I remember the people saying in the T-A thread that we should already update the palmares and declare Cancellara as winner of T-A lol.

I hate to say it, but Di Luca and the Lampre duo don't half make a difference to the racing.

wait w00t? I dont get it...

Good job Phil. Di Luca going to be a force to be reckoned with in the Ardennes, looking better day by day.

After the way that He was climbing in chieti with that explosiveness I'll be looking him very closely in FW... Also looking very good to Il Giro...JRod still building up some form...

The Italians don't gang up on foreigners, however, they race within a culture of campanilismo, which means they race so hard against each other on home turf to beat their national rivals that often foreigners aren't prepared for the ferocity that comes with this passion. And they are good.

In other words, an Italian racer often races more passionately in Italy then abroad. Few nations have riders that really out-do themselves on home soil the way the Italians do. This can be daunting for the non-Italians in the race.

Well I just can think in Visconti when I read this...

When did the riders start complaining like this? They might as well stop racing if they don't like their job anymore.

Like the reaction of the Z man.

Does this mean Fabian is skipping the classics, those monuments are just too long :( Maybe he's just embarrassed that he finished behind Schleck?

A few amusing shots.

A little unintended publicity for one of Castelraimondo's "tourist attractions".

Not to play fashion critic, but is Bettini wearing a suit made out of a sweatshirt? Just asking.

You may be right. Certainly there have been cases of Italians ganging up on foreign riders in the past. The one instance that we are all familiar with, being Stephen Roche's 1987 Giro experience.

However, I think that has mostly changed in recent years, with money buying loyalty.

So, if I am naive, I count myself in pretty good company: Gilberto Simoni for one.;)

Count me in also- my lame qc team a case in point. And David Brailsford for his odd Sky selection for Milan-Sanremo.

Cancellara's attempts to become the next Whinestrong are a shame.

"Oh it was too hard and hilly, I dont like it like that, Gilbert wins when it is hard even though everyone knows I am much better than him"

Next he will be campaigning for the Arenberg Forest to be re-surfaced.

Is this an actual quote? Can we get a link?

El Pistolero said:
Not an actual quote, but look at his twitter, a lot of whining and PR advertisement.

So the going gets tough and the 2 times P-R winner complains? With that attitude I don't see him repeating last year's success. He's beginning to sound like LeBron and D-Wade of the Miami Heat when the world wasn't kissing their feet due to their less than dominant performances thus far.
Twitter can sometimes be the athlete's worst enemy. They all should simply take a breath before tweeting away.:D
