Gee and Frigo are able to save it. No one in the first peloton seem interested in keeping it going for now.

Is it a hot take to say Milan's survivability isn't all that great on long climbs
He's survived similar/longer before so I think this is more in the 'disappointing performance' category than emblematic of a bigger trend (for now). He's no Groves of course but he shouldn't really be getting dropped at the start of climbs like today's.

As in, I don't think he regularly survives a climb like this in the front group but he should be getting dropped in the final few km and ending up 1:30 back or so, and regain it on the descent. Today is just quite bad

Can't help but think Ganna might screw his form for the classics riding like this, though he looks like he's not even trying here.
