Not disgraceful if it’s the way Bora decided to go about this race, i. e. co leaders with both having freedom. I also see problems with a strategy above having a rider who is in contention for GC “wait” for a teammate who is currently at top of GC. Risks the chance that they will both fall out of contention.
It was pretty clear both yesterday and today Roglic is actively trying to look out for Pellizzari. But when you're on the limit, you can't really just surge and pass someone on a steep gradient when that rider is also not waiting for you to pull.

Congratulations to Michael Valgren Hundahl for winning from a breakaway.

A bit of a setback for RBH, Giulio with some cramps and del Toro capitalising on that. Considering the advantage UAE now has in terms of seconds RBH can't leave the decision to the ultimate climb, Visma now in the mix too. Likely having somebody in the break and starting to crack del Toro on the penultimate climb on Camerino, hitting with a couple of exchanges by the RBH duo likely makes the most sense. The form for that seems to be there and Rogla rode smart so far, so lets see if RBH can take back control of this race. Fingers crossed!

great terrain , great finish ( and great winner ! ) , but as expected despite the terrain making longer and more strategic action possible it didnt incentivise it

the same today , but the gaps are big enough and team composition right for some yolo moves on the penultimate climb

Isn't the circuit a bit too much on the easy/long side for early attacks? There's one more bump of 1k at 8% early on, but that's about it, apart from the final climb.

Well, weren't you one of the people arguing against cross-race references (aka. "spoilers" ) down in the "Moderation" thread?

But would a ;) have made it clear that I was only being half-serious in my initial post about the matter?
is this a case where you dont want to understand it or a case where you cant imagine that youre wrong

cross race references are not spoilers

so a case where you dont want to understand or at least refuses to acknowledge any reasonable and meaningful conversation about it

Or... as I said; I was making a half-joking comment aimed at people who insist on watching races on replay, rather than just watching multiple races at the same time.

Kinda hard to keep track of what's "acceptable" and what isn't...

Not sure if isolation is the way to go. Think Roglic or Pellizzari should go from afar
Should just make a breakaway happen and attack across to that. You could throw Roglic in the regular breakaway but then you run into problems with other teams just closing that down. The other issue I think is that Red Bull isn't that strong outside of Roglic being 4th on GC.

If it were me directing them, I would ask Roglic to go early and force Del Toro to chase. But, in reality, I doubt he'd want to sacrifice himself (fair enough) and he may not have the legs to do it.
But if he did, and Pellizzari was able to wheelsuck Del Toro, I'm not convinced it would work in terms of overturning a substantial defecit.

You have to try though I guess.
I can't see Pellizzari going long. That would be folly in my view.

he did that twice in the tour and when lipo made a moronic decision twice in a row to go on his own , somehow rogla was blamed for that

I think yesterday the plan was for Rogla to attack on the last climb and close Del Toro's attacks, but neither RBH rider had the legs to execute it.
It seemed like Pellizzari was having trouble staying in the group from the start of the climb and Roglic was also at his limit following Del Toro and Jorgenson.
Maybe today the tides will turn as accumulated fatigue kicks in and someone will break even worse.

Del Toro can follow Roglic, then drop him and manage Pelizzari (or drop him too), so, unless he has a sans jour, he should win this TA.
