Normally I would say Kwiatek should win it easily with ITT on final stage and after switching priorities in Sky.
But after some bad luck (Poels, Thomas) it can't be sure.

Sure, but it certainly looks like he will win despite him having been slaving away for Thomas the past few days. Which would be the second stage race he steals from him this season :D

Especially if he can get bonus seconds tomorrow, he will be the huge favourite.

So, it will be the second stage race he wins without even wanting to win. Imagine what happens if he targets a race.

Froome without his inhaler ? eh ....a joke that bloke
How do you know he never used his inhaler? Does he have to win every race he enters to keep you happy?

No ...he just has not to ride when he is facing a UCI sanction ...that would keep me happy ...
Rules says he can race so has the right to race

Whether or not it's the right thing to do is a different question though.

Kwia is in Pole position right now. :D

After being second in Tour of Poland (2012), Vuelta al Pais Vasco (2014) and Paris-Nice (2015), I hope he'll win GC in Tirreno this year.

I am happy that CF is still keeping his head down
and treating the TA as training ride.
If that continues - some grudging respect from me.
Maybe he treats TA as a training but I don't think he keeps his head down.
After mechanical problems of GT he tried to help him, but finally lost 30 sec to Thomas.

Froome is ridiculous.
his main target is in 2 months.
Can't be too good now, also can't be too bad now.

Basically the equivalent of Romandie

Didn't Nibali win T-A and the Giro in 2013?

Nibali wasn't targeting the double. I think you want to be a bit more conservative before the Giro if you do

But then Contador obliterated Catalunya in 2011 and his double was the best we've seen in recent years.
but contador is probably the best gt rider since indurain.[/quote]

Contador's Giro/Tour double in 2011 and 2015 are the best attempts in a while, Valverde's in 2016 wasn't bad although who knows what he was actually trying to do at the Tour that year as he had claimed he was going to loose time and go stage hunting then ended up not loosing time and finishing 6th overall. He also put up his typical spring campaign and then went and added the Vuelta and Olympics for good measure.

Take those two out of the equation and it's a much more conservative approach to spring racing when trying to do a Giro/Tour double

Isn't every position he's in a Pole position? :p

Yeah, that's exactly why I used the capital letter

Landa's win must've made Nairo really happy.
Nairo's wins were far far more impressive though.

Well I rate this one today as quite impressive. He attacked from the group of favorites, bridged to the front group, drive that group almost single handedly, and out sprinted that same group. That's impressive by my standards...

Very Valverde-like, actually. A quick learner that Basque - just a couple of months with the old champ, and he's able to pull off tricks like that.

Outsprinting George Bennett and keeping Tiesj Benoot at six seconds is a bit less impressive than what Quintana did in 2015 and 2017.

He did say he wanted to learn from Valverde. He keeps saying he wants to go to the Ardennes this year because he wants to take advantage of the opportunity to learn from the master. I'd say he's taking notes. I know at some point he's said he was excited about racing with Valverde. (Not the same thing he's said about any other team leader he's shared a team with.)

I think he wants to persuade valverde to help him in the tour and he will do that by helping valverde in the ardennes

Quite interesting finale despite of the fact that in one moment about 500 metres to go it looked like Flechce wallone. 20 guys sprinting crazily up the hill.

Yeah, but looking at the profile, it was a waste of a stage. The finale in itself was mildly entertaining but with that Sky team there was no possibilities to exploit the opportunities the profile suggested might be there today.
