I am starting to wonder if I imagined Cav making it over the Cipressa and the Poggio in 2009, because he hasn't been able to climb an anthill since then.

Boonen also got left behind with the Cav. on the hill.

HTC now working to pull them back, puff puff

Maybe Lampre and Leopard pick up the intensity now?

Surely Petacchi and Bennati have to be the favs if Cav is struggling

The front group sat up and Cav has his whole team around him, he'll make it back no problem. This does not bode well for M-SR, though.

[edit] And there's the join.

Well, Ale-Jet has been mentioned as have Farrar, Bennati and Cavendish but what about Freire. My money is on Farrar for the stage and Freire to take the jersey.

Cav is back up near the front of the peloton, and HTC are setting the pace. Paging Libertine Seguros, Libertine Seguros to the Tirreno-Adriatico thread.

The Cav's speaking a reasonable Italian on the pre race soundbite! - just shown on the RAI

He's been learning for a while now, he loves Italy and Italian races. I remember after winning MSR the best he could manage was 'Si, I ride the Giro'.

Ferminal, just use the gazzetta feed, I seem to be able to make more sense of that in italian than british eurosport commentary.:p

I hope they hurry up so I can go back to bed!
