If so, wow... surprising.
Libertine Seguros said:I'm tempted to say Gilbert will surprise. He was top 10 in the pancake flat 45km in the Vuelta, a short out-and-back won't be anything he can't handle.

Timmy-loves-Rabo said:This will definately be his biggest (not in terms of days, in terms of prestige) stage race win imo. Excellent win .
Sasquatch said:He will choke like he did in the 2008 Tour de France time trial. He will hand victory to one of the LeekyGasses.![]()

No, you're not. In the hardest 240 km stage, the one Gilbert won, Boom was dropped just 20 k from the finish. He held on about as long as Langeveld. He is progressing, even from one day to the next.El Pistolero said:By the way, am I safe to say Boom has not shown any potential yet again to ever be good in the longer classics?
You might as well compare Boom to Andy Schleck, if you're going to compare him with Poels. He used to rival Schleck in climbing as well. And that comparison makes just as much sense.Dekker_Tifosi said:Indeed. Funny, how Poels has evolved compared to Boom from their espoirs period. Right now, Boom is, overall, better, but I'm very much inclined to think Poels will become a better rider with a bigger palmares. He's also 2 years younger ofcourse

I know, but in that case El Pistolero's point makes even less senseRyo Hazuki said:220 km in a stagerace is nothing like 220 km in a one day race. in omloop he was out of energy after 180 km.
