Not sure what you mean by that point. Could you ellaborate?
sure.
it seems to be all about vaughters ego, and his willingness to take on these blokes, these under-performing, flawed (can't ride in a pack, can't finish a 3 week SR, o woe is me) fellows looking for a new/safe home. danielson, zabriskie, millar, cvv, pate, etc.
permit me this question: where else can a "pro" rider go on to earn a healthy pile of money, with no pressure for results, seemingly "clean", fighting the "good fight" out on the road, and have the vacuous ego of jv to prop you up?
one team: garmin.
@ comment about him becoming a super domestique, I would agree but he is just not smart enough to be a popo-esque type rider. He is not tough, he is not a hard guy, he is simply a guy who can go flat out up steep climbs really well. absolutely nothing more.
So, if that has value to Garmin, I will watch to see if they employ him at races where that would be valuable: Paris-Nice, Tour of Romandy, Tour de Swiss, Tour of California. If not, then what more is he hired for?
