Top Ten excuses Sky will use to fend off doping accusations

1. Innovations in training
2. Weight loss
3. Reconnaissance of the course
4. Training as a team
5. Altitude camps
6. Peaking all season
7. Using a swim coach
8. Other teams “not innovating”
9. Hard work, dedication
10. Other people have never worked towards something in their lives like we have.

How about:

11. Everyone else has STOPPED taking gear

??!

So is this a tacit admission that Sky are on the gear (hence why they're better than everybody else) or an assumption that, all things being equal means that all of the best natural athletes just happen to be Anglophones on the same squad?

Either one requires a leap of faith.

You cite these types of remarks because it's what dirty teams say to cover up being dirty.

But do you see the logical problem? Dirty teams say this PRECISELY BECAUSE it's what clean teams do to achieve results.

It's like saying we know a man on trial for murder is guilty because he said he didn't do it. No, guilty people say this because it's what innocent people say. That both say the same thing does not mean both are guilty.

11. We here at Sky did a secret research project that figured out what has been holding back cycling for twenty years. Despite popular wisdom and even studies of respected scientists, blood doping actually retards performance. The results were shocking. Two generations of cyclists had fallen prey to a delusion. Rogers was taken off the junk and it was like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He started putting up power numbers like never before. That is when we knew we had the secret weapon that would win the Tour.

Sky failed hard in the classics. Best in rider in the Giro: Uran 7th place. TdS another fail. Vuelta Pais Vasco: Nordhaug 6th place.

I guess when you mean Sky here you really mean Wiggo-Froome-Porte-Rogers.

Ok ok you're probably right. Sky have developed a new drug that improves threshold without having ANY impact on haematocrit levels. They can therefore gain a 10% advantage whilst ensuring total consistency on the biological passport... No no sorry I mean they've found an anabolic that SPECIFICALLY causes hypertrophy of slow twitch fibres of the knee and hip extensors whilst SIMULTANEOUSLY causing massive ATROPHY in the upper body AND a DECREASE in body mass...

13. "I'm not a TTer any more, I'm a climber"/"I'm hoping to do well as TTing is my speciality".
Use within 24 hours of each other as appropriate without any sign of embarrassment.

isn't that how AICAR is purported to work?

Edit: well, at least on mice

I think the point is if Wiggo and Froome were such power-filled monsters, then they would have slayed the field at the spring classic of their chosing.

Gee, I wonder why they didn't.

Never tested positive in 500 (or whatever number) tests!

Of course, the inner circle is meant. Just like at US Postal. Frankie Andreu was barely part of it for a couple of years.

You don't get the neopro into the team program anymore. You have to see if he can be trusted first.

Don't you ever get tired of your own bull****?

Banesto was known for their classical dominance.
USPS pulverized the classics.
Saunier Duval had Cobblestones on everyone's mantlepiece.

Oh my, is my sarcasm to thick for you, or are facts really not your thing?

Falken, don't try this, it's rather embarassing, ok?

You just don't get it do you? My point was that if you want to accuse, say which riders you are accusing, don't say just say "sky" thereby implicating every rider on the team.

My sarcasm detector suggests you don't believe in the existence of cadres within doping pro teams. Are you, in fact, completely new to cycling by any chance?

No, but I don't speculate about inner circles, doping programmes or what have you, without some solid proof. What is going on now is just ridiculous.
