Horner -5 minutes, I heard. Sky's man has to be EBH, now.

EDIT: Or maybe Horner's at -3 min.

He should have stayed in front. Lots to learn.

yah whatever - looks like every cyclist in the race needs to learn that

Boonen, Berty, Bottle, Horner, Gesink, etc etc

lot of old experienced (and young talented) guys there need to log onto cyclingnews forum and pick up some racing tips

cycling is cruel - have you learned that?

edit 5 min done for the tour

sigh... so it's true. Wiggins is gone completely and Horner is out of contention. What a horrible first week for the GC. :(

It was a joke, b/c if it happens to Contador every anglophone jumps his case. But everyone else gets a free pass, just attributed to bad luck.

This is why I hate flat stages in the Tour

Always falls, always half of the GC contenders eliminated.

And I believe caused by Sojasun. Now theres a group of gamechangers.

Again guys, falling is the one thing, it just happens. But if you are so supper skinny like Wiggins the danger of getting injured is simply a lot higher.

Vino returns just in time! Good for him

I saw no sign of a crash on him so far, there was a couple of Astana riders that were just stopped and was standing in that pile up waiting for everyone to clear, so that may have been Vino, but it looked like his entire team was in that wreck, also evident by the fact he was chasing back alone.

His team had been up front all week, and they get caught in the back just once, and look what happen.

Thats why you want to stay upfront as much as you can, but sometimes it just comes right down to needing a little luck once and while.

skye has to get g thomas back up there. peloton may wait a bit though.

I wouldn't hold my breath. The group's not in the habit of waiting much this year!

Lots of old experienced guys going down this year, cant just be positioning

Not a fan of Wigans, but I never like to see a rider have to abandon because of injury.

Absolutely. Of course I'm more disappointed if it's a rider I really like, but I hate to see any of them crash out or lose so much time from a crash that they're out of contention. No one wants a race to be decided that way.

Has it been this hectic every first week of the Tour? Is it just normal bad luck that so many top names have been held back / crashed / injured or is the route especially prone to crashes?

I've never before had the time to watch the stages of the first week so this has me wondering. I remember just a few top names having abandoned/lost time before the mountains when I've tuned in for the second week.
