Got taken out of the race by a French TV car and couldn't keep up with the pace of the peloton.

I don't think that was questioned, but why did no Vacansoleil rider drop from peloton to ride with him?

They must waive the rule. I will never, ever, ever forgive the Tour if they DQ him for exceeding the time limit today.

It's not a conspiracy or fanboyism. It's pretty clear on the wider shot. And the folks that originally noted it on twitter would HARDLY be considered Contador fanboys.

The yapping and whining here is from Contador fanboys. About this incident, about how people are mean to him, about how those two American TV idiots don't give him enough respect, about just about everything. It's tedious.

What possible reason would Karpets have to risk his own race by deliberately throwing Contador into a ditch? Is it that you think he imagines he's in with a chance of winning the overall, if only he can get Alberto out of the way?

i expected a breakaway to go and likely make it . but i am a little surprised garmin, BMC, somebody, didn't try to pull voeckler back. thought a french would try for the stage but this is a day of surprises!

casar or lulu for stage win.....voeckler in yellow jersey.

Casar has never looked good in his career has he? ;)
Actually on the rare occasions that he does win something he usually looks like he'd blow up soon.

:)

Did he once win on Bastille day? Now that I think of it, I remember him winning more than one TdF stage.

Have Vac got nobody in front who could get him to to the finish ? Seems strange

My guess is they feel that because of his injuries it won't help much and that there's no way he'll get pulled from the Tour considering the reason for his time loss. But still it is sort of weird to not at least have someone who's in the back anyway help out a bit.

5'+ is a lot of time to give a rider like LLS. Correction: I guess he'll only be 3'+ ahead. I guess that isn't too bad.

LLS is 3.29 back on GC so they won't be giving him much time

Contador got flicked. The other riders around him should be able to attest to it. I doubt omerta extends that far.
IF Contador got flicked, the other riders around should be able to attest... It certainly looks like it, but it is still possible that Karpets move was innocent.

Also LLS already is 3'23'' back in the GC, so he'll be ahead like 1 or 2 minutes. Besides, he's not neraly good enough in the high mountains to really be a threat to a serious GC contender. Although this should help his chances to slip into the Top 10 again.

Let's wait till we have a bit more evidence, now shall we?

Keep in mind that swirving can be caused by many things; wheels/bars toucing, a small pebble/pothole just he hits, sweaty hand slipping from bar...

Sorry bout the first answer. Maybe they expect leniency from the jury? I don't know how much time he is allowed to lose.

Why did Barredo use his wheel to punch Rui Costa? Sometimes people are frustrated, or upset and they do stupid things. Not saying that is what happened, but still.

I'm no fan of AC. It looks to me as if Karpets flicked AC. I doubt he meant to crash him, but it looked intentional.

Damn I just realised something. Voeckler is going to be in the yellow on Luz Ardiden, that means instead of seeing the real racing up front the French director is going to constantly show him in the back trying to defend the yellow. Meh.
