Nope to pull him them back. One does simply not allow Contador to attack and just not respond.

Sky would undubiously chase Contador. But I'm very reluctant to believe that Nibali, current GC considered, would chase Contador rather than go with him.

Agree. Contador and Nibali need to form alliance to put preesure on Sky and bring back some time.
