Shame they couldn't find a hill or two for the middle bit.

They probably found countless 3rd and 2nd category climbs on both banks of the Tarn (the flat valley in the middle of the stage profile), but this is the era of youtube cycling. Imagine something exciting would happen with 100km to go.

Here's an alternative Rodez - Mende. First 78.5km and last 41.5km are the same:

There are indeed plenty of options in this area. Shame they rarely use it for a typical Giro stage.

Guys can you help me out, I just noticed an apology message from TDF on the ES Screen but missed the start of the text, can anyone tell me what is said? Cheers!

Was it regards the Helicopters? I heard it mentioned earlier they must keep their distance today. Great vistas in this area to film from afar though, it is beautiful.

I've only just started watching - did Pinot crash? I see an FDJ rider with torn lycra in the break.

I also only noticed the final part... Curious as well. Something about turbulence?

Great area indeed. Beautiful and greatly underused by the TdF.

The helicopters have to fly above 300m because of the national park

So, from here the break is probably 90% to succeed, so who do we think wins?

For me ....

***** Pinot, Uran
**** Bardet, Yates
*** Bakelandts
** Pantano
* (the rest of the break)

If they stay, then Yates should muller Pinot and Uran on a climb like this. Depends on how he's recovered from his bug.

Does anyone know who else is the break?
