At least they're not using Quintana to defend Bala's podium spot. I hope give the attacks more space before trying to bridge across.

Lol. Contador has literally NEVER ridden to defend a position below first. And I think, at this point, he (and Froome at last year's Vuelta) are the only ones who can claim that. Contador is trying anything to win this race, not to place in it.

To win? I don't think he's saving 5th place but neither do I think he's going for the victory. I'm more in the middle, seems to me like he is going for podium, challenging Valverde

If he was aiming to really challenge Froome I think he would have blasted straight past Gesink and Barguil, not sit on their wheel then pull gently at the front.

Could be going for the stage win i suppose, but not sure it's the ideal finish for him.
