That was a really boring Tour, probably the biggest gap between the expectations that I had before the start of the first stage and reality since the 2004 Tour.

Especially in reference to 2013.

Last year after the Grand Depart we had beatiful stages in the Vosges. 3 days with great racing and beautiful landscapes that were a pure pleasure to see. Also the rest of the race - although pretty much decided after Planche des Belles Filles - was still nice to see.

This year after the cobbled stage it got really boring, nearly until the Alpes. Both the second weekend and the Pyrenees except Froome's stage win were less fun to watch than the Vosges last year for me.

When finally we got back some entertainment since Wednesday, the horse was already bolted in the stable.

I really felt how my attention went away midweek one, while last year the cobbles and the Vosges really awaked my passion.

What are you talking about? How is a race that isn't decided until the penultimate day, with racing every day, with so many twists boring? Every day something happened, and even if not on every day, something decisive happened, there was always some racing going on. There was spectacle every day. My guess is you just don't like that Froome won. But when was the last time we saw so much racing for the yellow jersey when the leader seemed untouchable? I think this was a great Tour.

Guarnieri's chain went off just after the corner when he was gonna start the leadout for Kristoff. No wonder why Kristoff had to start his sprint so early (even earlier than last year). No luck for Kristoff this tour. Strange that Katusha could only put 2 riders with Kristoff for almost all rounds in Paris. The other 4 (Rodriguez "team") didn't do any help.

There's always something wrong with Katusha leadout, but I doubt Kristoff would have won anything even with good leadouts.
Greipel even with no leadout and when he had to come from behind was so much stronger.
Very impressed with Coquard as well, he had a lot of riders in front of him before the last corner and he managed to get in front all by himself and he weights like 60 kgs.

LOL, I use to be a little Froome supporter even. So that was some fail.

The race pretty much was decided until Friday, when Froome suddenly began to struggle after covering any significant move until then.

Also the Giro was by far more entertaining than this Tour. I don't know how that is even arguable?

The start was pretty good yes. Also the final week in the Alpes. In between there have been a bunch of lame stages. Especially the flat stages were boring if you compare them with the Giro.

As I said: Once the horse has bolted, it's too late to lock the stable.

The Vosges weekend just striked me more and got me hooked into the race last year. But that's subjective of course.

The race was pretty much decided until Friday because Froome managed to make everyone believe it was decided.
Which is something I personally find really interesting about GTs (and racing in general); the mind games. The ability of a rider to tell his rivals: "Oh, you wanna attack me? Don't bother; you ain't gonna shake me."

Anyway, Greipel had something rather important to say after the stage yesterday:

For sure tonight we won’t celebrate with water.

What kinda lame celebration would that be?

Sky apparently have a change of kit for today's stage, with yellow trim instead of blue. I thought that was not allowed, cf the Armstrong 28 million people kit from (?) 2009.
Odd. Sky must have gotten special permission from Cookson.

Radioshack hadnt applied to UCI for alternate kit
while Tinkoff, Garmin, Sky did
