Boring stage for sure, but the landscapes alone are worth it staying awake. Absolutely beautiful.

Ummm. Where are Kwiatkowski's rainbow bands on his sleeves? (and they're making a former world champion water carry)

Gesink riding on the front now for kilometers already. Kinda unique, 5th and 6th in the race before, now working on the front of the sprinter.. Can't recall any 'past' GC men doing so

There's no imagination in the peloton... keeping the breakaway on a short leash
15 minutes gap, or so, would inspire the thoughts about success.

And it looks like everything that moves in Vendée lined up by the roads.

Gesink probably just wants to warm his diesel up a bit. :D

Are Jansen, Roosen and Martens all part of his train? I guess it makes sense since you dont put a miniature climber like Tolhoek to the front or Roglic and Kruijswijk, of course.

Thankyou SBS for giving us Keenan and McEwan as commentators again and ditching Phil and Paul once again.

I remember Vande Velde pulling the peloton for Farrar in the final stage of the 2010 Vuelta.

Probably not that rare. Especially if we are talking about guys without a podium in GTs.

Seems that the Keenan and McEwan commentary must be the main English one as McEwan just said that they broadcast to 52 countries.

Yes

Groenewegen also explained it was a clear choice to go with a smaller train this year, because large trains don't work in the chaos of the peloton anymore, you get 'lost'. So they decided to go with 2/3 guys he really trusts. Especially Roosen is crucial.

Well, Demare's not winning this stage, not that it was particularly likely anyway.
