I guess he meant that dropping Castro for Carapaz is not that smart. Why is it stupid?
It was all working out..... you can't plan for a puncture at the wrong time dude.

Race center says 12 mins.14 min according to radio...
Actual time gaps.

Perhaps they don't fully trust Bernal shape?I guess he meant that dropping Castro for Carapaz is not that smart.
Recently they said in radio it was almost 14 minutes down...Race center says 12 mins.
Complete waste of Castroviejo. They're likely going to waste ton of energy and still finish in second group.
Not a smart move... Castroviejo and Carapaz will finish with the second group and with a lot of energy wastedCastro and Carapaz will end up in group 2 anyway. Almost impossible if not impossible to catch group one.
It doesn't matter anyway, because Carapaz will end up in group 2 inevitably.Perhaps they don't fully trust Bernal shape?
Nairo hiding well in the middle/back of the front group
And what do you do, if Bernal has a problem? Then plan A is also gone.IMO, they should have sent all but Bernal back, they need their Plan B!
Thanks. Not sure I'd call that stupid myself, but I agree it's a little risky.Castroviejo dropped back to try to drag Carapaz back to the lead group.
Alaphilippe tightening his shoes
Mr. K is still there with Bernal but still a bit risky to drop Castro since he would never reel Carapaz back to the main group imo. But yeah, they just don't want to lose their 2nd card atm!Perhaps they don't fully trust Bernal shape?
Isn't Kwiato there? And what do you do, if Bernal has a problem? Then plan A is also gone.
