I came here to complain about the lame breakaway but someone has used exactly the same words already.
At least EF sent Powless there so he can finish 4th on the stage and add to the team classification if the peloton won't chase.
One interesting strategy would be Ineos using Carapaz to attack. If he gains lost time good, if he wins the stage good. If he loses there is only Plan A. Anyway he can rest till stage 13
I complained about lame breakaway, not lame race.I remember yesterday, when a bunch of people were calling the race lame and boring and saying they would be back with 5 k to the finish line......... and then Bora kicked it into gear![]()

I agree with this. However, it looks like the peloton is going to give this stage to the break. This could be a long day (or night) for all of us....
Once again, and incredibly lame break
I fear that Luke freaking Rowe could lead the peloton over the Perysourde.
If so, the button is in Loudenvielle.
This break is so underwhelming. sigh
I'll pretend it's
Martínez
Elissonde
Latour
de Gendt
Kreuziger
Sánchez
and Zakarin.
Would have been a great stage for Kreuziger. Not sure why he didn't try to get into the break.
The way I view Ineos, they want the first week as quiet as possible.
Bernal came into the Tour slightly injured.
Carapaz has timed his shape for later, because he was supposed to ride the Giro.
Roglic was in better shape pre-Tour, so they will be hoping the tables turn week 3.
I fully understand why they try to ride defensively until the first rest day.
Well, that doesn't sound like very good domestique workFun fact about yesterday and Asgreen (the Danish commentators just brought it up):
When he was sent back to bring Bennett to the first group, he got within 2-300 meters, and on a little hill, with Bennett on his wheel, he put his head down and closed the gap to the front group....... only to turn his head and realise that Bennett hadn't been able to hold his wheel, so he had to drop back a second time, and then they never made it back.
It puts his anger at the finish line in perspective![]()
That seems obvious to everyone except JV so farThe way I view Ineos, they want the first week as quiet as possible.

Not much you can do, when the guy you are bringing back, is unable to hold your wheel![]()
You shouldnt go too fast, that your leader cant hold the wheel though.
