In any case, they can't ride faster than what Cav can tolerate. But good teammates to have in this scenario.
If he doesn't have the legs then indeed there's no helping it. But with likely time limit today they can afford to give away 10minutes on each climb so hopefully this is a calmly delivered plan rather than a futile death march.

So same scenario as yesterday? Teams to weak to chase the breakaway but at some point Pogacar decides to catch them solo one by one?

Disappointing with no Bahrain rider in the chase group after Poels. Teuns with heavy legs after yesterday?

Woods goes!

I think Ineos or a team other than UAE will force the pace on Pré. Poels and O'Connor are virtually high in GC now.

Realistically this has to be a primarily GPM-oriented break. Pretty much all of them are specialist climbers and only really Martin and O'Connor will have any real GC aims at this stage. I know Poels is fairly close but he's also the one who's done the most points-collecting suggesting he's already ahead of the game on targeting the KOM, and getting back into the GC mix as part of that will just be bonus for him. Quintana and Higuita were two I isolated as likely GPM-hunters after yesterday, while Woods is a strong climber who's also accumulated a good amount of points already. Barguil is an ex-GPM winner too, but has been a lot more anonymous lately.

Edit: Poels just holds on! Good battle there.
