Holy sh*t! Jumbo's arrogance punished so hard there.

Vingegaard thought he could win the jackpot on the Tourmalet & went too deep too early. They screwed themselves & it's glorious stuff.

I do love this sport on days like this.
How did they screw themselves?

If he wouldn't be able to drop him there, where the heck could he ever expect do it?

I guess he should just have waited for the sprint like Roglič would have done.

I'm completely stoked about todays result, but I have to repeat myself. This was utter tactical ineptitude by Jumbo. In a race where they should clearly focus on Pogacar and Pogacar alone, they drag him over the Tourmalet, drag him to the final climb and drag him to the final 3 kms, while completely exposing their leader. Even if Pog couldn't have dropped Vingegaard today, what would have been the point? Their entire focus should be on dropping Pog and today they seemed to focus on literally anything except that.

What is it with people talking about Pog 'wbeelsucking' today? He got absolutely murdered yesterday, Wout is driving it today, he rode exactly as he should have and it paid off massively.

Sunday will be very very interesting.
I think a lot will depend on the weather. This is a Tadej kind of day at 70 degrees F or so. But when it's really hot, that's when historically Tadej is not at his best.

Guys hindsight is 20/20... Vingegoo tried to go in for the kill today and I/we should respect him for it... Yes it didnt work, yes it looks a bit "stupid" even, but it wasnt some idiotic strategy that was doomed to fail or anything at all. Pogi is just a fkn superstar and he showed that again today and we are all better of for it otherwise the tour wouldve been over today

Either this or the final week in 2011.
I think it will be a long time until we match those two stages from 2011.
However, this week we had the double Yates moment, the Lafay attack, the Hindley heist, Vingegaard cracking Pogacar, Vingegaard attack on Tourmalet 40km out, and Pogacar dropping Vingegaard and blowing the race wide open. It sets up two weeks of uncertainty and excitement.

Yep? I mean he's got nearly a minute on Pog this morning. What's the rush? Why the greed? Just keep things tight with the team & launch on the final climb.

GT racing isn't an ego trip. Jumbo wanted to win the lot today like on Granon & it backfired spectacularly. Now they've brought Pog back into the game.

What an epic stage! JV did everything to kill the race (read Teddy) today (I actually expected they would succeed) and Wout almost died on his bike. The outcome was looking good: JV and Skeletor had a ridiculous acceleration at the end of Tourmalet and Wout was waiting up there. But Teddy trolled them all! What a ride and what a finish, congrats. The race is not over yet. The clash of the mutants is on and the guys behind realized pretty quickly that they are still fighting for #1...among humans.
