Visma are going to kill everyone here (well, everyone other than Pog and maybe some other riders with good legs). With Almeida out and considering how they raced the first week's stages, they'll drop the hammer. I don't agree with people who believe GC action will only happen later, i.e. this sort of terrain is perfect to utilize team strength - especially with how Visma like racing the TdF (fast and hard).
Indeed, I expect at least 2 riders in the attack from Visma. With Jorgenson to bridge later on.

I expect explosive stage from the start. TJV will try to attack and isolate Pog and with their 1st lieutenant gone UAE will have their hands full. Unfortunately I will have to miss first 2 hours of racing :/

Who do you think will be Pogacars last (strongest) domestique tomorrow?
A.Yates didn't look good at all until now. Sivakov or Soler? Last year with Almeida and an in-form A.Yates UAE had been nearly untouchable. This year could be a different story..

Tim. He's been solid. Sivakov. meh, lets see.

You mean WVA, Yates, Vic & Sepp wll be blown out the back?

It depends. These teams (Visma and UAE) have a knack for making their riders produce top performances at the most opportune moments. Who can forget McNulty choo-choo'ing Peyragudes 3 years ago out of nowhere?

I expect top performances from Visma's riders when it matters. Today is one of those days.

I guess I shouldn’t be, but after all the aggression, hills, and hard racing the past 9 stages, I am surprised to hear people on the forum think that…
  • The first week was bad
So where do the first 9 stages of this edition rank compared to the first 9 stages of previous editions? Do you think it has been better than 2019 so far?

I suspect that there is little material difference in opinion, just mostly a difference of language.

Only one French winner on the last 19 Bastille days with Barguil beating Quintana, Contador and Landa in 2017.

There is not a single climb tomorrow that should be classified any higher than a cat 3 in Stage 10.

Holy climb inflation. Yet, there are also about 5 other climbs that should be classified.

Gouvenou being Gouvenou yet again
Classification of climbs is the least of Gouvenou's problems. Also I think the categorization is fine, it means that for the first time this race the competetion will actually matter now

This will be the stage when Rog the King will be back. Bora with a perfect ambush.

True, I mean the leader in the KOM classification has 8 points after 9 raced stages.

It's a middle mountain stage with multiple repeated cols arriving on the 10th day of racing when Rog has historically not really enjoyed stages 8 or 9 in a GT before the first rest day. Add the fact the stage could be raced really hard and we have ourselves a recipe for something nasty here.

I hope (pun unintended) your prediction is right but I'm pretty pessimistic right now.

Visma to pressure Pogi and if exaggerating then some non UAE or Visma rider from top 10 to take advantage of it.
