with the headwind today, this was always going to be a do nothing breakaway stage. Maybe attacks 2km from the finish in the GC group 15 minutes behind the stage winner

I always hope there's a big attack whilst Jonathan Harris-Bass is waffling on about some random cathedral, just to see if he would carry on going.

I'm actually surprised Visma went with the satellite rider solution and not the "drill it hard as a team on the front to isolate Pog" solution. Even if Vingegaard attacks later he'll have Pog on his wheel. He needs to drop him to make this tactic work.
Jorgenson will attack first and bait Pogi, but for that to work you need someone up the road.

I'll never know why UAE thought Sivakov would be a useful rider for the Tour. He's like a poundland Froome

If the pace isn't hard enough, it'll be difficult for Jorgenson to gap the bunch based on UAE's tempo so far. I'm not just talking about Pog here, I'm talking about a dozen or so other riders as well.

The terrain needs a hard pace to cause carnage.

´The Russian mercenary was already training like a pro in the junior ranks and that BMC developmental team was also super professional. As a pro he stopped improving pretty fast.
