If ASO ever want mountain stages to go to the break again (and they should, in a world where Pogacar wins everything from the peloton), they need to stop putting the intermediate sprint in places like this. Not surprising at all that a break didn't get away before Tourmalet and now there is nowhere to build an advantage anymore.

German comms keep saying that Remco will DNF today, but that would be stupid. I think Skjelmose can still make it if he has just a fraction of his normal climbing level.

Skjelmose 8 minutes behind at the sprint.

He can still catch the gruppetto but you have to wonder what the point is

Why would it be stupid? Even if he drops time to try for a stage he clearly doesn't have the legs anyway. Seems like it would be smarter to just pull the plug and regroup for the rest of the year; this is crushing and does him no good at all. If we were at stage 19 or something I'd agree but he's just going to be destroyed next week if he stays.
