Usual logical attack point is with like 5k or thereabouts to go, but if they don't take the gap down a bit it probably won't be enough.

All that insane work from Politt to maybe not catching him.

In fairness he fully deserves the stage win, specifically after that 2nd place against Simon & the motards.

Yeah this was not a good move at all. It was highly highly likely the break was not going to make it, and he had done work, so will he hang on to his gc position, certainly won't be gaining
If he had Arensman's legs, it would have been a great move.

I am happy for Pog not to try win but I'll be very annoyed if I don't get some 3-8 place GC action.

It's not like he risks losing 2nd, so sticking with the same formula that isn't working makes absolutely no sense.
Your hope seems still alive, I however believe there is nothing to be found out (at least Not by racing;)) :)
